Serendipity’s Embrace Korean Drama is about a cute little love story of two people who have had feelings for each other since high school. One of them is in Daniel and another one didn’t convey feelings because of personal reasons but they met later to bloom their love.
Main Characters:
Kim So-hyun as Lee Hong-joo
She has been a cheerful girl since childhood and is afraid of losing people. She works as an animation production producer.
Chae Jong-hyeop as Kang Hoo-yeong
He is a financial planner who is very good with numbers and went to the US with her mother when he was in high school. He has a crush on Lee Hong-joo since school but he developed his feelings when he met her again after years.
Lee Won-jung as Kwon Sang Pil
Hoo- yeong’s high school close friend runs a restaurant.
Kim Da-som as Kim Hye-ji
She is the best friend of Lee Hong-joo and an English teacher at Ohbok High School. She has big crush on Kang Hoo-yeong since high school.
Highlights of Serendipity’s Embrace Korean Drama
Present Story:
Lee Hong-joo is living in Korea in Kang Hoo-yeong’s uncle’s house and producing animation. Right now she is single and afraid to lose people. Because her mother, then her aunt, then her friend Kang Hoo-yeong, and then her first love Bang Jun Ho (a novel writer) left her side without saying anything.
Kang Hoo-yeong is working in the US but recently returned to Korea for some business and stayed in his uncle’s house. He still has feelings for Lee Hong-joo. His life decision was taken by his mother which was the reason he left Korea when in high school.
Back Story:
Lee Hong-joo liked Bang Jun Ho since high school she even went to Miletry Basecamp to confess her feelings for him by delivering letters they even dated for a while when he was back from serving there for two years.
Kang Hoo-yeong has a big crush on Lee Hong-joo. He is known as an intelligent student in the school but he skipped his interview to follow her in military basecamp. Although they both end up spending the night together in a pit. That was a funny incident watch the drama to know more.
Kim Hye-ji has a crush on Kang Hoo-yeong and to shy to confess so she chooses her best friend to deliver letters to him. Meanwhile, he is in love with her best friend so he accepts those letters just to see her.
Encounter:
They all met after 10 years. Kim Hye-ji was very excited as her first love was back, Kang Hoo-yeong was excited because he got to know that his first love was single and living in the same house (different floors) with him. Lee Hong-joo first ignored him as he left without saying a word 10 years back but later reconciled as friends. She also met her first love after 3 years he claimed that he left her back then because of his illness but she didn’t take him back into her life.
Friendship:
Lee Hong-joo has feelings for Kang Hoo-yeong but she is in denial because her best friend likes him a lot. But when Kim Hye-ji got to know about Kang Hoo-yeong’s feelings she took a step back and helped him win her best friend’s heart.
New Love Stories:
New love stories blooming Kang Hoo-yeong and Lee Hong-joo. Kim Hye-ji tried hard to win one of her fellow PT teacher’s hearts and they started dating. Even her father approved of their relationship.
Offer:
Kang Hoo-yeong’s mother is back in Korea to take her son but he is very rigid to leave Lee Hong-joo’s side this time. He even resigned from the company and to make him come back her mother sued him. Later she made an offer to Lee Hong-joo to move in with them in the US. Initially, she denied and when he was leaving for the US she met him in the airport and the guys’ drama ended here.
Overall Thoughts on Serendipity’s Embrace Korean Drama
I like the drama it can be binge watch on weekends. It ended in between so I think they will bring another part hopefully.
