Highlights of The Killing Vote Korean Drama

Professor to Murderer:

The drama begins with an 8-year-old story. It was a rainy day, and a man was chasing a boy. That man was Kwon Seok Joo, and he was killing his daughter’s murderer repeatedly with a knife. Kim Moo Chan who was a detective, was chasing Seok Joo to stop him from becoming a murderer, but he was too late for that. There was no mercy in Seok Joo’s eyes, and he was looking like a serial killer. In the present, Moo Chan is tracking an illegal broadcasting ring with the help of Joo Hyun, an undercover cyber bureau cop. In no time, Moo Chan finds out about his hideout, successfully saves Hyun Joo, and catches the culprit.

Death Penalty:

When the police fail to give justice to victims, a group of people called “Gaetal” take the responsibility to punish the evils. Through the online poll, they give the death penalty; if more than 50% agreed to kill, then they kill the criminal. As the case got public and media attention, the authority set up a special investigation team. The team was lead by Kim Moo Chan; the first criminal to receive the death penalty was Bae Gi Chul. Gi Chul is corrupt and has scammed people’s money. Everyone was taking it lightly, as the public thought that Gaetal was doing it for attention, but everyone was shocked when the result came out.

Punishment or Revenge:

Soon the second killing vote began, and now people are very conscious of the situation. Gaetal gives solid proof of their crimes, and he knows when to go. He connects with people’s emotions so that they can go for the yes option. The second criminal was Uhm Eun Kyung. In the past, she had killed her husband for their insurance money, and now she is married for the fourth time. The car explodes, and to save her, Mu Chan is injured in the explosion along with the second victim, but he isn’t able to save her.

Who is Gaetal?

The police are still not able to find out the real identity of Gaetal. The public wants to know: who is Gaetal? and debating whether he is right or not. Moo Chan decided to ask Professor Seok Joo, who was in prison. Moo Chan wants to find out if Gaetal is linked with Moo Chan, so he sends Joo Hyun to read his mind. With the third killing vote, police are a little closer to identifying Gaetal. There was a lot of tension between Seok Joo and Moo Chan. Seok Joo believes that Moo Chan, and Moo Chan believes Seok Joo is a “Gaetal.”

Overall Thoughts on The Killing Vote Korean Drama

The Killing Vote Korean drama is a good drama; you can go for it if you like criminal suspense. The first half of the drama was quite intense, and the ratings were also good; however, the ratings went down, maybe because they gave one episode per week when viewers lost interest. This drama is underrated, so if you are looking for a drama to watch, then I suggest you give it a try. The story shows how a father takes revenge on the killer of his only daughter and gives justice to others by taking the law into his own hands. Although his method was wrong, what could a father do when his daughter’s killer was roaming freely and mocking him continuously?
