Top 15 Detective Korean Dramas

Detective Korean dramas are one of my favorite genres to watch as these dramas keep you hooked to the episodes till the end. Always keep your interest level high and you are suspicious of every character’s behavior. I don’t know how many of you enjoy watching detective Korean dramas but if you want and are looking for recommendations here we have listed down some of the top 15 detective Korean dramas.

Flower of Evil

Cast: Lee Joon Gi, Moon Chae Won, Jang Hee Jin, Seo Hyun Woo

Genres: Romance, Thriller, Mystery, Psychological, Melodrama, Crime

Ha Ji Won (Moon Chae Won) is a detective, and she is married to Baek Hee Sung (Lee Joon Gi). She adores her family more than anything. Baek Hee Sung is an ideal husband. He works as a craftsman and is successful with his metalworking. They have a daughter, Baek Eun Ha (Jung Seo Yeon). Hee Sung is a loving and caring husband and father, but he hides his cruel past and lives under another person’s identity. 

Beyond Evil

Beyond Evil is about two hardworking detectives who sacrifice everything to find a serial killer. Lee Dong Sik (Sin Ha Kyun) and Han Joo Won (Yeo Jin Goo) are detectives. On this journey, they suspect everyone around them, including themselves. This drama is one of the top-rated dramas that has collected a few prestigious awards.

Big Mouth

Park Chang Ho (Lee Jong Suk) is a lawyer whose winning rate is terrible. He is a very talkative person that’s why people call him “Big Mouth”. Chang Ho is involved in a murder case. Go Mi Ho (Im Yoon Ah) is the wife of Chang Ho and works as a nurse. She also helps her husband financially and psychologically in becoming a lawyer. When she finds that her husband is a murder case suspect she tries to clear his name.

Through the Darkness

Cast: Kim Nam Gil, Jin Sun Kyu, Ryeo Un

Genre: Crime, Investigation, Suspense, Thriller

The drama is about criminal profilers who dig for information by reading the minds of serial killers. Song Ha Young (Kim Nam Gil) is a criminal profiler who seems calm and charismatic. He works on the criminal behavior analysis team with Kook Young Soo (Jin Sun Kyu) and Jung Woo Joo( Ryeo Un).

Vagabond

Cast: Bae Suzy, Lee Seung Gi, Shin Sung Rok

Genre: Investigation, Suspense, Crime, Thriller

Cha Dal Gun (Seung Ji) is an underrated stunt master who dreams of becoming a taekwondo master. He takes care of his nephew Cha Hoon. They have a very good relationship. Cha Hoon departs to Morocco and sends a video message stating Dal Gun to pursue his dreams. In the working set, Dal Gun hears the news of a plane crash that killed 200 lives and he is shocked that it was the same plane in which Cha Hoon traveled. He broke down into pieces and went to Morocco. There he finds out that the plane crash is not an accident. Vagabond is one of the Top 15 detective Korean dramas.

Stranger

Cast: Cho Seung Woo, Bae Doo Na, Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Joon Hyuk, Shin Hye Sun

Hae Young (Lee Je Hoon) is a police lieutenant and works as a criminal profiler. Despite being a cop he does not trust cops. Soo Hyun (Kim Hye Soo) is a veteran detective. This is one of the top Korean dramas inspired by true events. Signal is one of the Top 15 detective Korean dramas.

The Devil Judge

Cast: Ji Sung, Kim Min Jung, Park Jin Young, Park Gyu Young

Genre: Mystery, Law, Crime

It is a criminal law drama where the story revolves around Kang Yo Han (Ji Sung) who is a chief judge and he shows no mercy toward punishing the dishonest, corrupt, and greedy men. However, he has a mysterious secret. Jung Sun A (Kim Min Jung) is a smart and beautiful executive director of the Social Responsibility Foundation. She has the power to control and influence the leader of the country.

Law School

Cast: Kim Myung Min, Kim Bum, Ryu Hye Young, Lee Jung Eun

Genres: Mystery, Law, Crime

Law School is the story of law students who are involved in an unexpected murder case. Yang Jong Hoon (Kim Myung Min) is a former prosecutor but now he is a professor at a law school. He is very straightforward and doesn’t care what others think of him. Meanwhile, Kang Sol A (Ryoo Hye Young) and Han Joon Hwi (Kim Beom) are first-year students.

Healer

Cast: Ji Chang WookPark Min Young, Kim Mi Kyung, Yoo Ji Tae

Genre: Romance, Comedy, Thriller, Suspense

Seo Jung Hoo (Ji Chang Wook) known as “Healer” and Chae Young Shin (Park Min Young) who is a reporter at Someday News, lives with her father who is a lawyer and owner of a coffee shop. Young Shin wants to become a famous reporter like Kim Moon Ho (Yoo Ji Tae). Moon Ho begins to uncover the mystery with the two reporters Young Shin and Jung Hoo. Healer is one of the Top 15 detective Korean dramas.

Taxi Driver

Cast: Lee Je Hoon, Esom, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin

Taxi Driver is based on the webtoon “The Deluxe Taxi” by Carlos and Lee Jae Jin. It is the story of Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon) and his team (rainbow). Deluxe Taxi is not an ordinary taxi, they offer a special “revenge-call” service to their clients who were abused and mistreated by someone. Meanwhile, Ha Na (Esom) is a prosecutor who is investigating Rainbow Taxi.

The Worst of Evil

Park Joon Mo is a police officer married to Yoo Eui Jung, also a police officer. For investigating a drug dealer, he was ordered to join the Gangnam Union gang as an undercover agent.
