In the year 2071, the world was decimated by toxic air pollution among the remaining people, only 1% of the population has survived. People don’t leave their homes besides always wearing masks because of bad air pollution. For survival, they have to order the oxygen cylinder and delivery the driver’s supplies.
Main Characters:
Kim Woo Bin as 5-8
5-8 is a legendary knight. He is highly skilled in physical combat and no one can defeat him in a fight. Young people want to become delivery man like 5-8.
Song Seung Heon as Ryu Seok
Ryu Seok is a wealthy heir of the Cheonmyeong Group. Cheonmyeong Group is ruling the world by supplying oxygen as a weapon.
Kang Yoo Seok as Sa Wol
Sa Wol is a young refugee boy who wants to become a delivery man and he admires 5-8.
Esom as Seol Ah
Seol Ah is an officer in the Defense Intelligence Command. She saved Sa Wol’s life when he was a young kid and after that, she was taking care of Sa Wol like a younger brother.
Highlights of Black Knight Korean Drama
Unexpected Attack:
Cheonmyeong Group deliverymen supply oxygen to the people and 5-8 is the legendary knight. Even after suffering so much people are still discriminated by their class. Cheonmyeong Group and government decide to open a new district in post-apocalyptic Korea. But 5-8 think something is fishy about Cheonmyeong Group’s plan so he was investigating the construction of a new district in post-apocalyptic Korea with other deliverymen. Seol Ah is a major in the military and was living with Seul Ah, her younger sister, and Sa Wol who is a refugee kid saved by Seol Ah when he was a kid. One day, Sa Wol and Seul Ah experience an unexpected attack where Seul Ah died whereas Sa Wol was saved by 5-8.
Fight for Tournament:
While saving Sa Wol, 5-8 discover a secret of Sa Wol which Sa Wol didn’t even know. After the death of Seul’s death, Seol Ah begins the investigation to find out the truth behind her younger sister’s death. Seol Ah was doubting 5-8 but in the investigation, he himself helped and give information to Seol Ah about the real killer. Meanwhile, Ryu Seok decide to conduct the tournament for deliverymen and Sa Wol was very excited as his dream of becoming a deliveryman was on his way. 5-8 gave training to Sa Wol so that he can achieve his goal.
Secret Plan:
Through the deliveryman tournament, Ryu Seok wants to kill all the refugees because doesn’t want refugees to be part of the new district in post-apocalyptic Korea. So he decided to kill all the refugees at once no one was aware of his ruthless plan. Ryu Seok’s father oppose his plan so many times and warn him not to kill innocent people but he himself had done the same mistake in the past. Not only that but he was polluting the air on purpose so that people always depends on them for the oxygen. Chairman Ryu Jae Jin and President were together whereas Ryu Seok and Defense Minister are plotting the killing together.
Team Up:
In the final match of the deliveryman tournament, Ryu Seok finds out that Sa Wol is a mutant. Finally, 5-8 and Seol Ah team up to stop Ryu Seok, and decide to take Ryu Seok and Cheonmyeong Group down. Ryu Seok kidnapped Sa Wol but in the end, nothing worked in the favor of Ryu Seok. They have finally succeeded in their plan and air pollution was also decreasing.
Overall Thoughts on Black Knight Korean Drama
Black Knight Korean drama is a good drama to watch if you are into Sci-Fi but if you didn’t enjoy this genre that much then you can skip this drama. You will find it boring but for me, I fully enjoyed watching this series. All the cast did an amazing job. We all should take some action by ourselves to control air pollution otherwise our situation will be the same, and our survival will depend on the oxygen cylinder and mask.
