Think if you are in the middle of watching your favorite Korean Drama and your mother calls you for some grocery shopping. How would you feel?? Sad right? The Heavenly Idol Korean Drama is about a Pontifex serving the deity Redrin suddenly transported to earth as a k pop idol and now he will have to fight the evil one on earth.
Main Characters:
Kim Min-kyu as Rembrary / Woo Yeon-woo
Rembrary is a Pontifex who serves deity in other words and fights against evil.
Woo Yeon-woo is a k-pop Idol of Wild Animal group. He doesn’t know how to sing but he believes that with his face he can be a good idol as well as an actor.
Go Bo-gyeol as Kim Dal
previously she is handling a girl group but one of them committed suicide because of some reason so she quit and started working again as Wild Animal’s new manager because she is a fan of Woo Yeon-woo.
Lee Jang-woo as the Evil One (Mawang)/Shin Jo-woon
The malevolent King of Evil in another world and vice chairman of an entertainment company in the real world.
Highlights of The Heavenly Idol Korean Drama
Transported:
One day Rembrary is fighting with Mawang to save the other world but suddenly he is transported to LPreal world and swaps bodies with Woo Yeon-woo. Initially, he got confused about what is going on it took a few days to understand what was going on around him. He still has his divine powers but it only works when he eats something sweet. It’s like he has to recharge his powers.
A Deal:
Finally, he can communicate with Woo Yeon-woo who is now Rembrary and he refused to switch bodies again. But they make a deal if Rembrary as Woo Yeon-woo can become a famous idol and win the rookie actor award he will switch bodies.
Playing Tricks:
The evil one is playing tricks to pull Woo Yeon-woo down. He doesn’t want to kill him in one go he wants to see him miserable and lose to evil. He is hypnotizing people so that they work against Woo Yeon-woo.
Rumors:
The evil one doing his best to spread rumors against Woo Yeon-woo so that people will stop believing him and he knows that his power will only work when people have trust in him. To make him weak they are working on defaming him so that he can lose his powers. When everyone was against him Kim Dal was the one who believe in him.
In Love:
Woo Yeon-woo did his best to serve his deity but once you fall in love with someone you are not qualified to be Pontifex so he decided to leave on earth with Kim Dal. He did all the good deeds even to the people who hated him.
The Culprit:
Lord Redrin created two people one is the evil one and another one is Pontifex, she gave a part of her power to Pontifex and later send an evil one to kill him to get his power. She also made a fake Woo Yeon-woo whom she send on earth 5 years back to set a wrong image of him so that people can hate him. She plans to turn people into goblins in exchange for their souls so that she can be the most powerful person in the world. Initially, she was a human being she did some good deeds and felt that she is gaining powers by doing that so she became greedy for more.
Overall Thoughts on The Heavenly Idol Korean Drama
So I did not like the ending of the drama this drama starts so well in the beginning and was good till episode 8 but after that, it becomes a little boring. The ending could have been better in the last episode they killed the evil one, lord Redrin, Kim Dal sell her soul to save everyone and forget about Woo Yeon-woo and then suddenly remembered him. The last episode was completed in a rush. I also feel that they have the evil very strong in the initial episodes but powerless in the end. Disappointed with the end. Of course, there were fun elements as well.
