Ever heard a person who is full of himself and self-centered start caring about someone else? Yes, Crash Course in Romance Korean drama is about a teacher who teaches in a private institute and a woman who runs a lunch-providing shop. They both have different personalities but one is common which is a kind heart.
Main Characters:
Jeon Do-yeon as Nam Haeng-seon
She runs a shop with her friend previously she was a handball player and to provide a better future for her niece she gave up on her dreams.
Jung Kyung-ho as Choi Chi-yeol
He is the star teacher who teaches maths at Pride Academy. He is very famous for teaching maths and has an eating disorder.
Highlights of Crash Course in Romance Korean Drama
Player to Mother:
Nam Haeng-seon was a handball player and she is very skilled but one day when her elder sister abandoned her child and her mother died in a car accident she gave up on her dreams to give her niece a better future. Initially, she thought everything is okay but when she enrolled Nam Hae-yi (her niece and adopted child) in Star classes she came to know that she is lacking in being a perfect mother. Then she tried hard and did everything possible to make her child happy.
Food:
Nam Haeng-seon cooked tasty food which is liked by everyone, one day Ji Dong-hee (Choi Chi-yeol’s manager) brings her food to him although he cannot digest the food to his surprise he eats that food completely. So he decided to visit the store and bring his food from there only.
First Encounter:
Choi Chi-yeol faced some false rumors about him so when Nam Haeng-seon’s brother tried to click the tiger’s picture imprinted on his jacket he thought he is clicking his picture for more rumors so he snitched his phone to delete pictures but realized he was wrong. This misunderstanding leads to a fight between the two but later he cleared his point of view and apologizes for the same.
Private Tutor:
After taking Choi Chi-yeol’s classes Nam Hae-yi is doing good in her studies. Pride Academy brings All Care Program for the seven students who will be given complete guidance for the CSAT exam (college entrance exam) and those seven students will be decided through an exam. Nam Hae-yi was one of the seven students but due to academics and politics, she was not qualified for it. So Choi Chi-yeol decided that he would give her secretly private classes for free.
School:
The school was fun for Nam Hae-yi she has friends to play, chat with, and share secrets with. Recently a boy Seo Geon-hu came to her class and wants her to teach him to which she said yes. Bang Su-ah was the topper of the class but was always insecure about her and after taking classes from Choi Chi-yeol she topped the class which was indigestible for Bang Su-ah.
Scandal or Romance:
Nam Hae-yi topped the class and it started bothering All Care Program student’s mothers. Bang Su-ah mother post on a group that her mother is selling her body so that Choi Chi-yeol tutors her child. To clear her name Choi Chi-yeol said on a program that he is the one who has a crush on her she is innocent this statement backfired on him because for everyone she is a married woman whose husband is abroad and Nam Hae-yi is her child. But Nam Hae-yi gather the courage and revealed the truth she said it was not a scandal it was Romance.
Danger:
All the murder case happing in the city are related to Choi Chi-yeol in some way or the other. He was also concerned when Nam Hae-yi falls into danger she was kidnapped by the culprit and when she tried to run away she met a car accident the police concluded that it was a suicide case and stop investigating. But her mother was confident that something has happened to her.
Overall Thoughts on Crash Course in Romance Korean Drama
I like the drama but to be honest I think the female lead would be someone else. The storyline is unique the lesson you can take from this drama is don’t force your kids to do something they don’t want to do. They will turn into monsters or live miserably in fear of not getting good grades.
