Grid Korean drama is the story of a mysterious ghost (Lee Si Young) who saved humankind in 1997 and then suddenly disappeared. Once again after 24 years that mysterious ghost appears and this time she helps a serial killer (Kim Sung Kyun). Kim Sae Ha (Seo Kang Joon), Jung Sae Byeok (Kim A Joong), and Song Eo Jin (Kim Moo Yul) were tracing the ghost for their own reasons.
Main Characters:
Seo Kang Joon as Kim Sae Ha
Sae Ha is an employee of the Special Investigation Bureau. He has been waiting for 24 years to find the “ghost” who has saved humankind. Sae Ha is very good at reading lips.
Kim Ah Joong as Jung Sae Byeok
Sae Byeok is a detective. While investing in the murder mystery she has encountered the “ghost”. After that, she begins working with Sae Ha. She is specialized in biopsy evidence.
Kim Mu Yeol as Song Eo Jin
Eo Jin works in the Special Investigation Bureau. He used to work in a department that handles the Grid.
Lee Si Young as Ghost
24 years ago she disappeared after saving mankind and reappears in 2021. This time she appears to protect the serial killer.
Highlights of Grid Korean Drama
Murder:
In 2005 a shield was created with an artificially expanded magnetic field to protect mankind from the solar wind. Fast forward, Sae Ha witnessed a murder scene in a convenience store immediately he report to the police. Kim Ma Nok killed a convenience store worker, he stab his neck with a pair of scissors. In the CCTV footage, they figure out what the victim said to the murderer “What an ill-bred punk. Does he not have any parents?”. Meanwhile, Police find out about the hideout of Ma Nok but he manages to escape.
Mysterious Existence:
In the whole process, Sae Byeok encounters a mysterious person who was helping Ma Nok in escaping. Sae Byeok manages to see her face but she disappears into the thin air right in front of Sae Byuk’s eyes. Everyone thought that she is Ma Nok’s accomplice. Sae Byeok mentions the ghost in her report and that catches the attention of the Special Investigation Bureau. Soon after that Bureau took the convenience store murder case from the police.
Team Up:
Sae Ha approached Sae Byoek for making the fingerprint of his senior so that he can enter the restricted access. Later she agrees to help on the condition that he has shares whatever information he obtains with her. They joined hands. Sae Ha wants to catch the mysterious woman whereas Sae Byeok wants to catch the murderer so it’s a win-win situation for them. Sae Byeokwas trying to identify and track her whereabouts.
Investigation:
Sae Byeok is always coming on the way of the Bureau’s investigation so they decide to transfer her different office. But she didn’t give up and decided to do an investigation on her own. Meanwhile, for catching the ghost and Ma Nok Bureau decide to spread the misinformation about the Gridso that she will come back again to rescue mankind. Sae Byeok arrests Manok but again she loses his custody to the Bureau. The ghost appears in front of the Bureau.
Overall Thoughts on Grid Korean Drama
Grid Korean drama’s story revolves around uncovering mysterious existence that has saved mankind in a crisis. The story is kind of confusing even till episode 6 we don’t know exactly the mission of the ghost, why she has killed the kid’s father, why she is saving the murderer. The plot is too slow and confusing.
