Moonshine Korean drama is a historical drama that dates back to the Joseon era. In this era, the selling and buying of alcohol were banned but this doesn’t stop people’s evil character. The story revolves around 3 people Inspector Nam Young, Kang Ro Seo a woman who supports her entire family by making moonshine (smuggling alcohol), and Crown Prince Lee Pyo. These 3 people meet by destiny and they find hidden alcohol. It is all about how they deal with this problem without sacrificing any lives.

Ro Seo is a hardworking girl who does any job to support her family who struggles financially. She does every job from cutting the tree for wood, finding out the lost ring, and staying as a servant. Nam Young is a good-looking Inspector who has good archery skills and personality. With the help of his servants, he easily tracks pickpockets and robbers and gets the money back. Ro Seo and Nam Young meet accidentally when Ro Seo has been ragged by a group of thugs and Nam Young came to rescue her and they had a cute meetup. Ro Seo’s life is full of troubles and she started selling alcohol secretly in the province to pay off her debts. The Joseon area has been the incomplete prohibition of the use of alcohol for the past 10 years.

The irony over here is Ro Seo’s trying to start a mobile bar but she should do that without the knowledge of Nam Young or else she might end up as a slave. The Crown Prince, Lee Pyo wants to desperately drink alcohol even after the ban. Ro Seo secretly sells alcohol to Lee Pyo. Nam Young finds this and was confused as to whether report them to the King.

Ro Seo and her friend’s house arrested Sang Mok, but he escaped from them. Kang Ro Seo makes a deal with Giringak Courtesan House’s gisaeng, Woon Sim, to sell 1 Mal liquor for 20 yangs. Furthermore, Woon Sim will cancel her brother’s debt. Then the story shows us a glimpse of 20years back and the problems the kingdom faced due to the consumption of alcohol by the people which has led to the ban of buying and selling alcohol.

Nam Young finally opens up his feelings towards Ro Seo, He said there is no point in hiding his feelings. If a chance was given again, he will only choose Ro Seo and they had a passionate kiss together. Now, they were totally surrounded by danger all around. Together, they fight against Shim Heon’s gang. In this battle, Nam Young got back his traumatic memory which happened 10 years ago. Chum Geum stays with Ro Seo emphasizing that their half and a half share is both for their money and worries. Nam Young got the inspector badge and started reinvestigating to catch Sim Heon. Nam Young was stabbed while engaging in a fight with Sim Heon,

Ae Jin runs away after hearing the talks about her marriage with Crown Prince. Ae Jin sees Ro Seo and tries to help her from the arrest. In mid of this Nam Young came back whom they thought was dead. Nam Young protects Ro Seo while searching for Sim Heon. Even this time Crown Prince Pyo comes to have a drink. Then after a lot of battles and struggles, Sim Heon was caught and the real truth was unfolded. Nam Young and Ro Seo stayed together happily.

Moonshine Korean drama portrays the life of a commoner and her problem to support the family, which made her take all odd jobs. The story completely explains the everyday struggles and the chaos caused by alcohol consumption. The actors have done a brilliant job in portraying the roles and their chemistry is just WOW! If you want to watch a light-hearted historical drama, then this is the best choice.
