My Roommate Is a Gumiho is the story of a college student Lee Dam (Hye Ri) and a 999-year-old gumiho (nine-tailed fox) Shin WooYeo (Jang Ki Yong ) who is collecting human energy to become human. Lee Dam mistakenly swallowed gumiho’s marble after that they lived together.
Main Characters:
Jang Ki Yong as Shin Woo Yeo
Shin Woo Yeo is a 999 years old handsome and soft-hearted nine-tailed fox whose only desire is to become a human. He has worked in many fields but now he is a humanities writer.
Lee Hye Ri as Lee Dam
Lee Dam is a college student majoring in history and lives with her brother Lee Dan (Choi Woo Sung). She mistakenly swallowed gumiho’s marble.
Bae In Hyuk as Gye Sun Woo
Sun Woo is a college student and senior of Lee Dam. He is very popular in the university because he is handsome, rich, and a pro-level playboy. However, he is charmed by Lee Dam’s cuteness and personality.
Kang Han Na as Yang Hye Sun
Hye Sun was also a gumiho and friend of Shin Woo Yeo they have been friends since the Goryeo Dynasty. Recently she has become human and she is 22-year-old but in reality 747-year-old.

Accidentally Encounters:
Lee Dam was carrying her drunk friend Do Jae Jin where she accidentally encounters Shin Woo Yeo and she is amazed by his handsome face. Meanwhile, mistakenly swallowed a fox bead. Later, when Shin Woo Yeo introduced his true self as a gumiho, she got scared and ran away from him. She tried to explain things to her brother but he took all of that as a joke.
Cohabited between Gumiho and Human:
Mr. Gumiho offered her a deal where he suggests Lee Dam stay with him because when he touches her he saw the bead is changing its color and that is a sign that he can become human. He assures her that he will find a way to remove the bead from her body within a year. In case he failed to do that Lee Dam will die. Tigers are like enemies of foxes and Lee Dam is carrying the foxes bead that means every time she will touch an opposite gender who was born in the year of a tiger she will feel pain. Only Mr. Gumiho’s touch can reduce the pain.
Love Triangle:
Woo Yeo and Lee Dam are developing their feelings toward each other and enjoying each other’s company. Sun Woo also starts liking Lee Dam and he is impressed by her charm but because he is born in the year of a tiger so he can’t touch Lee Dam. She tries all the possible ways to avoid his sunbae. The more she runs away from him, the more he wants to be with her. Finally, he managed to persuade her for the date and Lee Dam is doing her best to irritate him so that he can reject her.
Second Lead Syndrome:
You can witness second lead syndrome in My Roommate Is a Gumiho Korean Drama. Earlier Sun Woo’s intention was not good he makes money bet with his friends that he will date Lee Dam. But later the more he met Lee Dam the more he was amazed by her charm and her personality. Sun Woo gives you the second lead syndrome by his caring and soft nature for Lee Dam.

My Roommate is a Gumiho has taken a good start and if you are looking for a fantasy genre drama, you can watch this. No doubt Hye Ri and Jang Ki Yong’s acting is amazing. There are many hilarious scenes in the drama. I watched Jang Ki Yong’s previous Korean drama Born Again and I really don’t like his character in that drama but I’m just loving and enjoying his character.
