The main protagonist of Jo Jo develops a love interest in Sun Oh and both of them rang a love alarm and started a relationship. In mid of a happy relationship, Jo Jo shielded her love alarm and the reason behind it is still a mystery to me. Even though she loves Sun Oh she started avoiding him, as she was not sure about her emotions. Then the first season built up a love triangle and ended up in cliff hanger, leaving the audience in the utmost confusion. Guys whose team were you: Team Sun Oh or Team Hye Young?
Of course, I belong to Team Sun Oh, as I turned out to be a huge fan of Song Kang.
After a long wait, we got to have Season 2 on-air, It already had high expectations on the story and the ending. Love Alarm season 2 begins with the time-lapse of 4 years.
Main Character:
Song Kang as Sun Oh
He is a model in S2. Sun Oh still has the same feelings for Jo Jo and he still has not gotten over her. Even though he tries hard, he can’t ring the love alarm of his girlfriend Yuk Jo. He is still the same man who is full of love towards Jo Jo.
Kim So Hyun as Jo Jo
She was so hardworking and struggles to make a living. Due to her childhood trauma, she was confused. She. was constantly battling with her emotions. She is a college student in S2.
Jung Ga Ram as Hye Young
He has got a job in a big organization. Hye Young always hides his feelings for the sake of others in S1 but in S2 he discloses his love towards Jo Jo and promises always to stay beside her.
Highlights of Love Alarm Korean Drama
Life Changing Update:
In S2 even the Love Alarm app gets an update that allows the users to see their potential matches. In S2 Jo Jo spends more time with Hye Young and develops feelings for him. Even though Sun Oh is still in love with her and wants her back, Jo Jo was not ready to patch up her relationship with Sun Oh. As she is confused and can’t figure out her actual emotions.
Never Changing Love:
Sun Oh still has feelings for only Jo Jo and he cants ring Lee Yuk Jo’s (Kim Si Eun) alarm. He tries to be good to her but he can’t cope with his feelings. Jo Jo started developing an interest in Hye Young and she wanted to remove her love Alarm sheild.
Mysterious Murder:
Another side plot is that there were many mysterious murders with connections with Love Alarm and many people suicide because no one rang their alarm. In the final episode, a strange man approached Jo Jo knowing that she is the illustrator of “ the ringing badge”. He is was the sole survivor of the mass suicide who ended their life as no one rang their alarm. He started choosing the victim by ringing their alarm and murdering them based on Jo Jo’s illustrations.
True Love:
At last, Jo Jo confronted Sun Oh and felt sorry to hurt his feelings and for shielding her love interest. She explained to him that she has got to live her life liberally after the shield. She wanted to follow her heart’s will, Sun Oh understood her feeling and they were on good terms. Jo Jo decides to run a marathon, in the way of searching her own herself. At the end of it, she realized her true emotions and her true love. In the end, she met Hye Young and disclosed her feelings for him. Duk Gu meets his one-sided love Gul Mi and reveals that he is the developer of Love Alarm and at the end, Gul Mi develops a slight feeling over him. Meanwhile, Sun Oh realizes that he does have feelings for Yuk Jo and that he wants to be with her.
Overall Thoughts On Love Alarm Season 2 Korean Drama
Love Alarm S2 was one of the most anticipated Drama in 2021. Back in 2019, Love Alarm S1 was released on Netflix and it was a huge hit. From the first episode, it started ruling the entire K-drama world. The debut of Most handsome Song kong has been appreciated by most of the viewers. Love Alarm has compelled science and romance by a portray of a love detecting app.
Love Alarm 2 failed to meet his expectations, as it was hyped so much and the audience was made to wait 2 years for this season. The storyline was not so attractive, many of us wished for Sun Oh and Jo Jo’s happy ending. But, it ended up breaking the general stereotype and a second lead got to have the girl. On the other way, for Team Hye Young it will be a treat to watch. If you are gonna watch Love Alarm 2 without any expectation then it is the best option, you can complete it in one run.
