When I was the most beautiful is the story of a girl who was very lonely and struggling to achieve her dreams. One day she meets two brothers while working on her dream. They both fall in love with her. Wants to know what happens next??
Main Characters:
Im Soo Hyang as Oh Ye Ji
Oh Ye-Ji is a girl with a terrible past. She is an art student and her dream is to become a ceramic artist. She lives with her aunt who torment her very much.
Ji Soo as Seo Hwan
He is a high school student later who turned out an architectural designer. He likes Oh Ye-Ji from the first day he saw her.
Ha Seok Jin as Seo Jin
He is a car racer and the leader of his rally team. He saw Oh Ye-Ji and feel attracted to her.
Hwang Seung Eon as Carrie Jung
Carrie Jung is the manager at Koryo Monster and ex-girlfriend of Jin. She is very possessive of Jin and couldn’t let ho him even after the breakup. She is a real witch in this drama.
Highlights of When I was the Most Beautiful Korean Drama
First Encounter:
It was raining Seo Hwan saw a girl covering herself with lotus leaf to protect herself from rain and she was Oh Ye-Ji. She was doing her internship at his school. Seo Hwan falls for her. Later she shifted to his town to learn ceramic from his father who was a ceramic artist. There she met Seo Hwan’s big brother Seo Jin.
Threaten:
When Oh Ye-Ji’s aunt finds out that she is working as a teacher, she threatened her if she didn’t stop teaching there she will reveal her past to everyone. She even went to her school where she teaches and creates a huge fuzz there. Seo Hwan helped her to keep her job. Later she tried to move out of her aunt’s house and again she creates a commotion than Seo Jin helped her.
Approached Her:
Both the boys are approaching her in their way. Seo Jin asked Seo Hwan to back out because Oh Ye-Ji needs a man who can protect her not a high school kid. Later Seo Hwan’s father also convinces him to forget about his first love and let his brother take the lead.
Family:
Oh Ye-Ji didn’t have a feeling for anyone, but when Seo Jin, Seo Hwan, and their father make efforts to make her their family she agreed on getting married to Seo Jin. Seo Hwan’s mother was against it but later she agreed because she didn’t want his son to get married to Carrie Jung. After marriage, Seo Jin wants to do racing again so Oh Ye-Ji respects his passion and supported his decision of racing again. While racing he met with an accident and gone missing.
After 3 years
1st Debut:
Seo Jin is still missing and Oh Ye-Ji is making her first debut as a ceramic artist. Her mother-in-law went to the exhibition and destroyed all her work, she resented her because of his missing son. Oh Ye-Ji feels depressed and ran away from home without thinking much she went to Jeju island, where she and Jin went on their honeymoon. Seo Hwan who was in the U.S. for his studies came back to Korea for a while to find out her. They both enjoyed there and when Seo Hwan tried to kiss her, she asked him not to stay in touch with her anymore.
After 4 year
Back on Wheelchair:
Jin’s mother finds him in the U.S. all this time he has been hiding there with the help of his ex-girlfriend Carrie Jung. His mother brought him home and asked her wife to meet him. Jin initially resists to meet anyone from his family but open doors for Oh Ye-Ji and what she saw next was beyond her imagination. Jin was paralyzed below his waist he can’t use his legs now. He was hiding all this time because he doesn’t dare to face his family in his current situation. He wants to recover fully before meeting them but eventually, he gave up.
Growing Gap:
Jin is not comfortable around Oh Ye-Ji and she also felt a little uncomfortable when it comes to asking something to him. They have so much to talk about and then Jin saw pictures of Oh Ye-Ji and Hwan from Jeju island. He misunderstood them, Oh Ye-Ji tried to explain to him but he is not ready to understand the situation. He even asked for a divorce but Oh Ye-Ji put down his proposal and asked him to join back his rehabilitation. Everything seems normal but Carrie Jung ruined up all. She told the truth that Jin was with her in the U.S.
Things Revealed:
There are a few things hidden got revealed. First, Oh Ye-Ji came to know that her mother killed her father because she wants to save Ye-Ji. Second one Hwan came to know that her father falls from a cliff to save him. Third one Jin came to know that his accident was Carrie’s doing. Fourth one Jin’s mother came to know that Hwan also like Oh Ye-Ji so she decided to send him back to the U.S.
Different Paths:
Hwan told Ye-Ji that he is leaving for the U.S. and after that, he took her for a dinner date. Oh ye-Ji asked him not to leave because she is going to broke up with him and his bother will need him then. Finally, Oh Ye-Ji decides to divorce his husband. Hwan asked her to leave with him to the U.S. but she denied.
After One Year:
Hwan was working at hotel Bali and his new project will take him to U.s. for 3 years. Before going he met Oh ye-Ji and where she opens up about her feelings for him. They spend time together and ye-Ji left silently after leaving a note behind.
Overall Thought on When I Was The Most Beautiful
When I was the most beautiful drama will surely give you a second lead syndrome. When I was the most beautiful is more of a family drama rather than a romantic drama. For me, this drama was boring after a few episodes same is repeating either it is a small bother or ex-girlfriend. I would say if you guys like a family drama then go for it.
