Stranger 2 Korean drama is a little different from season 1. This time prosecutor and police fight for power over the investigation. The prosecutors want discretionary power over investigations whereas; the police try to get complete investigative authority which will be independent of the prosecutor’s office. Cho Seung Woo as Hwang Shi Mok
In Stranger 2 Korean drama Prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok joins the Criminal Legislation Division at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.
Bae Doo Na as Han Yeo Jin
Han Yeo Jin was promoted as a Lieutenant and she is also a member of the Investigative Procedure Reformation Unit at the National Police Agency.
Jeon Hye Jin as Choi Bit
Choi Bit is the head of the Intelligence Bureau and the Investigative Procedure Reformation Unit at the National Police Agency. She is the boss of Yeo Jin.
Choi Moo Sung as Woo Tae Ha
Woo Tae Ha is the head of the Criminal Legislation Division at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. He is the boss of prosecutor Shi Mok.
Lee Joon Hyuk as Seo Dong Jae
Seo Dong Jae is the fellow Prosecutor of Hwang Shi Mok. He is secretly investigating Lawyer Park Gwang Su’s Namyangju Case.
Yoon Se Ah as Lee Yeon Jae
Lee Yeon Jae is the wife of late Chief Prosecutor Lee Chang Joon. After her husband’s death, she takes over the company, and currently, she is the chairwoman and CEO of Hanjo Group.
Highlights of Stranger 2 Korean Drama
Five Different Cases:
In Stranger 2 Korean drama there are so many cases that prosecutor Hwang and Senior Lieutenant Han have solved.
Tongyeong Drowning Case:
This drama starts with the Tongyeong Drowning Case. Three boys Kim Hu Jeong, Won Il, and Seung Jun go to the beach for a vacation on a foggy day, but among them, two boys Won Il and Seung Jun are drowned. The case was closed because some rich people are also involved. Prosecutors closed the case by saying that after drinking they drowned in the sea. Meanwhile, prosecutor Seo Dong Jae was investigating the case.
Segok Police Station Case:
This case is about the suicide of Sergeant Song Gi who has committed suicide inside the washroom of the Police Station. Sergeant Song Gi’s team bullies him and they want him to leave the team. Because his team was taking the bribe from the club owner and others and he finds out that so he wants to reveal the truth but he committed suicide.
Assemblyman Nam’s Bribery Case:
Assemblyman Nam gives bribery to the bank officers for the selection of his son in the bank. His son was not able to clear the screening round instead he was sitting in the topmost position. Police and prosecutors help Assemblyman Nam in this.
Prosecutor Seo Dong Jae’s Disappearance Case:
When prosecutor Dong Jae was secretly investigating Namyangju Case, someone kidnapped him. Prosecutors were saying that someone from the Police kidnapped him, and police were saying the prosecutor kidnapped him. Later the kidnapper sends the letter to the police and after the investigation, it was found out that the police are behind his kidnapping. Meanwhile, Shi Mok and Yeo Jin solve the case and they find out the real kidnapper. Kim Hu Jeong is the one who kidnapped Seo Dong Jae because he was keeping investigating the Drowning case.
Lawyer Park Gwang Su’s Namyangju Case:
This is the main case which was revolved around Choi Bit and Woo Tae Ha. They both are involved in the Namyangju case. While driving he had a heart attack and he died. But when Shi Mok is investigating, he came to know that he didn’t die due to a heart attack while driving.
Prosecutor and Police Battles:
In Stranger 2 Korean drama prosecutors and police officers are fighting over the power of investigation. Prosecutors don’t want to lose the power which they have from many years and police officers want the complete power in their hands. So they make the committee and discuss who should have the investigation authority. The police officer committee was Shin Jae Yong (Lee Hae Young) Choi Bit, Han Yeo Jin, and Jang Gun (Choi Jae Woong), and the prosecutor committee was Woo Tae Ha, Hwang Shi Mok, and Kim Sa Hyun (Kim Young Jae). Till the end of the drama, they didn’t find out the right owner of the authority they were just fighting and proving that they are the responsible ones.
Undercover Truth:
While Shi Mok and Yeo Jin’s chief are fighting over the authority of investigation, they are investigating the undercover truth of different cases. First, they find out the assemblyman Nam’s Bribery case where he gives bribery to the bank officer for the selection of his son’s in the bank. Then they find out the Segok Police Station Case where Sergeant Song Gi Hyeon committed suicide in the Segok Police Station. After that, they solve Prosecutor Seo Dong Jae’s disappearance case and they find the kidnapper of Seo Dong Jae.
Lastly, they solve the main case of the drama lawyer Park Gwang Su’s Namyangju case where they find out that their head is also involved in the case and that they have a choice that if they want to disclose the criminal to the public or they save their boss and show them their loyalties. Of course, they choose the right path.
New Characters:
There are so many new characters, but I was looking forward to the Choi Bit and Woo Tae Ha characters and I’m impressed with them. Their character was not evil, but also good. I like Choi Bit’s character more because she supports Yeo Jin until the end.
Choi Bit and Woo Tae hate each other and I want to know the reason for that hatred toward each other. Even though they don’t like each other, but still they share the drink and talk with each other. Their fight for authority was on another level and they want to win in anyhow.
Cameo Appearances:
In Stranger 2 I want the cameo appearances of the Season 1 characters and my dreams to come true in episodes 5 and 16. In the 15 ep, Yoon Se Won (Lee Kyu Hyung) appears as a prisoner where he meets Yeo Jin when she goes there for the investigation. After the success of Kyu Hyung’s latest drama Hi Bye Mama! He did a cameo appearance in the Stranger 2 Korean drama.
In the ep 16 again, he made a cameo appearance with Lee Chang Jun (Yoo Jae Myung) and Young Eun Soo (Shin Hye Sun) in the Shi Mok’s dream where they were discussing something. I was so happy and badly want to see them as a cameo appearance.
Overall Thought on Stranger 2 Korean Drama:
Overall, I really enjoy watching Stranger 2 Korean drama. If you want to watch season 2 then I recommend you, people, to first watch season 1 and then after that go for season 2. I really like the Stranger 2 Korean drama. There are too many cases sometimes it is a bit confusing but it will keep your interest in the drama and the drama end with an open ending and maybe we can wait for the Season 3 of Stranger Korean drama. Really like the duo of Hwang Shi Mok and Han Yeo Jin. Yeo Jin’s new look in the long hair is good, but I like her short hair and in the end of the drama she cuts her hair.
