Stranger Korean drama is the story of a prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok and a police Lieutenant Han Yeo Jin. They work together to eliminate corruption at the prosecutor’s office and solve a serial murder case. Review of Stranger season 2 Korean drama.
Main Characters:
Cho Seung Woo as Hwang Shi Mok
Hwang Shi Mok is a prosecutor at Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office. In his childhood, he had brain surgery and because of that, he has a lack of emotion. He is the only prosecutor not involved in corruption.
Bae Doo Na as Han Yeo Jin
Han Yeo Jin is a police Lieutenant. She is a fearless cop who later team up with prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok to undercover the truth of the murder.
Yoo Jae Myung as Lee Chang Joon
Lee Chang Joon is a Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office. He is the Son-in-law of famous businessman Lee Yoon Beom (Lee Kyung Young) who is chairman of Hanjo Group.
Lee Joon Hyuk as Seo Dong Jae
Seo Dong Jae is a senior of prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok. He isn’t a completely bad person, but he isn’t a saint. He is the right hand of Lee Chang Joon.
Shin Hye Sun as Young Eun Soo
Young Eun Soo is a junior prosecutor and had a crush on her mentor Hwang Shi Mok. She is also doing secretly investigating Lee Chang Joon and blaming him for her father’s career downfall.
Highlights of Stranger Korean Drama
Murder:
Hwang Shi Mok is on the way to meet Park Moo Sung because CEO Park wants to tell him something very important. When he reaches Park’s neighborhood, he has trouble finding his house, but he finds his house. He opens the door, but the lock was open and Park Moo Sung was covered in blood. Hwang Shi quickly sends Park’s Mom out of the house so that he can investigate.
Investigation:
Shi Mok goes to the National Forensics Service and examines the black box footage to find out the real killer. Meanwhile, Shi Mok enters the Park’s house and imagining Moo Sung in his mind and calculating how much he takes to hear the doorbell, go to the window, and then open the gate for the cable operator. After that, he was sure that he already died before the cable operator enters CEO Park’s house and he is not the real murderer.
Politics:
While investigating the murder of Park Moo Sung, Shi Mok found out that many prosecutors, police chiefs, and businessmen are corrupted and directly or indirectly involved in the murder. Everyone wants to protect their top position so that they protect themselves. Shi Mok’s main goal is to uncover the truth and sometimes he doesn’t know how to deal with people.
Finding The Murderer:
For finding the killer of CEO park Deputy Chief Lee Chang Joon make the Committee, whose head is prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok and he has to select the members for the committee. Members are Police Lieutenant Han Yeo Jin, Detective Jang Geon (Choi Jae Woong), Chief Prosecutor Yoon Se Won (Lee Kyu Hyung), Shi Mok’s Assisting Officer Choi Yeong (Kim So Ra), and Shi Mok’s Investigator Lee Tae Hyung (Kim Ho Seob). This Committee has to find the murderer and corruption in the prosecutor’s office.
Shocking Killer:
The killer of CEO Park is a bit shocking. Even though they have a reason to kill him, but still take can’t murder people in the name of justice. In the whole drama, there were so many interesting twists and turns, but that wasn’t too complicated to understand. In the end, everything seems so fine. I feel pity for the killer because of the way he was living after that heartbreaking incident in his life.
Revealing The Corruption:
Lee Chang Jun has a very important role in revealing the corruption of higher-ups. In the first half of the drama, I feel very sad for him because he is completely under his father-in-law. His father-in-law uses him for his own purpose. But later we find out that he is a good prosecutor who was collecting enough evidence of all shady deals and business transactions to put away and ruin the image and reputation of all the corrupt leaders. In the end, he committed suicide because he doesn’t want to be interrogated by his hoobaes.
In the end, Eun Soo was also killed by someone while she was investigating the corruption case of Lee Chang Jun. Who do you think killed Eun Soo? Eun Soo’s character sometimes irritates me because of her desperate nature, she always wants to impress Shi Mok even though he doesn’t care. When she died, I feel so sad for her.
Brave Hwang Shi Mok and Han Yeo Jin:
Hwang Shi Mok is an unbiased prosecutor. Han Yeo Jin and Si Mok worked shows the result and they undercover the corruption that was happening in the prosecutor and police officers. Together, they even try to go against their head officer and undercover corruption in the workplace. I love the chemistry between the Hwang Shi Mok and Han Yeo Jin, there is no romance in the drama but still, they look good together.
Overall Thought on Stranger Korean Drama:
Recently I have watched Stranger Korean drama because I want to watch season 2 of this Korean drama. So I thought that let me just finish season 1 of this series. I love this Mystery thriller Korean drama, believe me, you will not be bored while watching this Korean drama if you people are into a mystery thriller. Stranger Korean drama is a good mystery thriller Korean drama because it keeps you guessing the drama till the end and even every character is very suspicious and you will guess their motive and behavior until the end.
I will not recommend Stranger Korean drama to everyone if you people are more into romance, but if you’re looking for a well-scripted crime and investigated Korean drama then make sure to watch Stranger Korean drama.
