The Escape of the Seven is a revenge-based drama; it is the story of seven people involved in a girl’s disappearance case, and the “Bobble Incident” gets media and public attention. Because of the lies and greed of the seven individuals, the girl goes missing or is murdered by them.
Main Characters:
Uhm Ki Joon as Matthew Lee
Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon) is the CEO of the biggest mobile platform company, “Tikitaka.” He looks mysterious and pretends to be Lee Hui So, the father of Da Mi. Matthew wants to gain the trust of Do Hyuk and Ki Tak so that he can find out about Chairman Bang’s money; he was using it for his greed.
Hwang Jung Eum as Geum Ra Hee
Geum Ra Hee (Hwang Jung Eum) is the CEO of a production company. She is very greedy and can do anything for money, even if she has to kill her own daughter.
Lee Joon as Min Do Hyuk
Min Do Hyuk (Lee Joon) is a gangster, and his life is full of betrayal. He loves his mother and younger brother, and even though Do Hyuk is adopted, his mother loves him like his son.
Lee Yoo Bi as Han Mo Ne
Han Mo Ne (Lee Yoo Bi) wants to become an idol. She seems to have a perfect life, and everyone is jealous of her rich background. Mo Ne flaunts her background, but no one knows what she shows is totally different in reality; her life is full of lies.
Shin Eun Kyung as Cha Joo Ran
Cho Joo Ran (Shin Eun Kyung) is an ob-gyn and mistress of Bang Chil Sung (Lee Deok Hwa). She was with Chairman Bang only for his money.
Yoon Jong Hoon as Yang Jin Mo
Yang Jin Mo (Yoon Jong Hoon) is the CEO of Cherry Entertainment. He is very greedy and will do anything for money. Jin Mo didn’t like Kang Ki Tak because he was his rival in the entertainment circle.
Jo Yoon Hee as Go Myung Ji
Go Myung Ji (Jo Yoon Hee) is an art teacher and she has an affair with the sports teacher to hide her weakness Myung Ji spreads a fake rumor at the school that Da Mi has given birth to a child.
Highlights of The Escape of the Seven Korean Drama
Biological Mother:
Bang Da Mi is a high school student who is suffering from a heart condition. Her biological mother left her when she was a kid, and after that, her adoptive parents raised her like their own daughter. They are poor, but they love Da Mi and can do anything to see the smile on her face. After many years, her biological mother came from nowhere, and now she wants Da Mi back in her life. Da Mi also agreed to live with Geum Ra Hee, and when she arrived at Ra Hee’s place, she was overwhelmed. Soon after, she gets the reality check that her biological mother is using her to get the money from her grandfather.
The Bobble Incident:
After staying with her biological mother, changing schools, and living in Seoul, her life changed. When she was in the countryside, she was living peacefully, but in the city, her life was different. Because of her honesty and kindness, she got bullied by her classmates. Da Mi thought Mo Ne was her good friend, but she didn’t know that she was planning something for her to ruin her life. She becomes the victim and gets the nickname “Bobble.” Da Mi explained to everyone, but no one believed her except her adoptive parents. Meanwhile, the Scarlet Letter also spreads rumors that Da Mi and her stepfather are in a relationship.
Da Mi Disappears or Murdered:
Da Mi wants to reveal the truth to the world, so she informs them through SNS to join the park as she will broadcast the truth live, but destiny has something else for her. She was killed during the live broadcasts by her adoptive father. However, her body disappeared from the crime scene, and Da Mi’s grandfather lost all hope as she was the only one left from his family. Chairman Bang decides to find the truth.
Revenge:
In the present, everyone has forgotten about the Bobble Incident, and they are enjoying their lives. Lee Hwi So gets the death sentence for killing his adoptive daughter, Da Mi. Geum Ra Hee and Cha Joo Ran killed Chairman Bang by throwing him from the bridge, but somehow he survives. Chairman Bang was planning with Ki Tak to help Hwi So get out of prison. and take revenge for killing his granddaughter.
Overall Thoughts on The Escape of the Seven Korean Drama
This drama shows betrayal and greed, how blind they are to money, and how they are ready to kill an innocent for money and fame. The drama starts well but gets annoying in the middle of episodes. There are so many twists and turns that you never expected. The victim didn’t get any justice as the evil were alive till the end and they were enjoying their lives fully. This drama boils your blood, as evil has the upper hand from the start. Now we have to wait for the second season to see how the table turns.
