The Uncanny Counter Korean Drama is full of mystery, action, and fantasy. Counters catch evil spirits and punish them for their wrongdoings. Season 2 has a lot more because this time evil spirits are more powerful and have a group of people on there side. Still, they will lose why? Because a sense of saving someone and unconditional love for each other is missing.

Counters:

The counter is those people who are in a coma and about to die. They are given a chance to be a counter to catch evil spirits and send them to Yung, where they get afterlife punishment. Whenever they are surrounded by Yung’s territory they become four times more powerful and can feel the evil spirits whenever they come in contact with the territory.

Jo Byung Gyu as So Mun

So Mun is the most powerful counter in the team. He can summon the territory, move things without touching them, read memories, enter into someone’s mind, and many more.

Yoo Jun Sang as Ga Mo Tak

He is the only one who is doing another job other than being a counter. He is working as a police officer and his superiors are amazed with the fact that he finds a criminal. Mo Tak power is strength.

Kim Se Jeong as Do Ha Na

Ha Na has the power to sense evil spirits, enter into someone’s memory, and delete or filter memories. She even deleted the memories of her love to make him safe. Her fighting skills are top-notch.

Yeom Hye Ran as Chu Mae Ok

She is the oldest member of the group and has the power of healing.

Yoo In-soo as Na Jeok-bong

He is fresher appointed in the team and has the power to smell evil spirits.

Evil Spirit:

Kang Ki-young as Hwang Pil-kwang

Hwang Pil-kwang planned a scam and hid in China with his other two people Gelli Choi and Wong Li Qiang. He is the most powerful and after eating spirits of counter from China he became more powerful.

Kim Hieora as Gelli Choi

She eats the spirit of a lady and now have the same powers as Ha Na.

Jin Seon-kyu as Ma Joo-seok

Ma Joo-seok was a firefighter living with his wife who is pregnant and his mother. Rage’s revenge for the death of his wife and child makes him an evil spirit. He can see and communicate with the territory and also can absorb the Yung’s power and become powerful with the territory.

Kim Hyun-Wook as Wong Li Qiang

He eats the spirit of a man and now have the same powers as Chu Mae Ok.

Highlights of The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch Korean Drama

New Member:

The team is looking for a new member and Mo-tak finds a perfect person who risks his life to save someone else’s life. He became part of the counter family and could smell the evil spirits. He is weak but his power seems to be very helpful because after eating Chinese counterpart spirits they can see the territory and avoid it.

Back to Korea:

Evil spirits are back to Korea to get money they have earned by scamming people and one of them is Ma Joo-seok. In the hope of giving the house to his family, he lost all his hard-earned money. They killed his wife and unborn child. Later counters summons Wong Li Qiang and frees the spirits he has consumed.

Good or Evil:

Ma Joo-seok’s wife and child were killed by evil spirits and they framed someone else for it. Now his rage invited an evil spirit who tried to take control of him but it was difficult to do it. Ma Joo-seok’s willpower was so strong but evil spirits together fire his rage and he killed someone and he became most powerful.

Best on Rest:

Gelli removed the memories of So Mun being born again as a counter and he went into a coma. Other team members did their best to wake him up from the coma and this time So Mun woke up as counter without even signing the contract.

Summon The evil:

When So Mun was in a coma other team members worked together to summon Gelli and send her to hell. Later when he woke up Hwang Pil-kwang admitted his wrong doings in front of the media so that Ma Joo-seok kill him. Now he is living inside Ma Joo-seok body was his but spirit was Hwang Pil-kwang and now he is a completely evil spirit. This kind of spirit cannot be summoned only eliminated.

World Tour:

So Mun knows that Ma Joo-seok is still alive in that body so he goes into his mind to wake him up and for the first he summed someone inside the mind. Therefore Ma Joo-seok survived and Hwang Pil-kwang went into hell. Later Mun went on a world trip to train other countries’ counters and came back after six months.

Overall Thoughts on The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch Korean Drama

Season 1 was a hit and season 2 is even better. I have always admired the action pact dramas and a drama became even more good when a woman fights so well. Kim Se-jeong as Do Ha-na nailed her character. This drama is filled with action and mystery it doesn’t mean it’s boring many fun elements will keep you engaged.
