Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon), a former army officer. Now he is a deluxe taxi driver and works for Rainbow Taxi Company. Jang Sung Chul is the CEO of Rainbow Transportation and also runs the Bluebird Foundation which helps victims of different cases. A Deluxe taxi is not an ordinary taxi. They offer a special “revenge-call” service to their clients.
Main Characters:
Lee Je Hoon as Kim Do Gi
Kim Do Gi is a former army officer from the special forces, but his life changed after his mother’s death. Now he works in Rainbow Transportation as a deluxe taxi driver.
Kim Eui Sung as Jang Sung Chul
Jang Sung Chul is the CEO of Rainbow Transportation and the head of “Bluebird Foundation” which helps the victims. He is very kind-hearted and warm toward victims were is cold and ruthless toward assailants.
Pyo Ye Jin as Ahn Go Eun
Go Eun is a talented and skilled hacker of Rainbow Transportation.
Jang Hyuk Jin as Choi Kyung Goo
Kyung Goo is a mechanic for Rainbow Taxi Company. Previously, he was a development researcher for new automobiles in an automobile company.
Bae Yoo Ram as Park Jin Eon
Jin Eon is an assistant mechanic at Rainbow Taxi Company. He was working in Korean NASA before joining Rainbow Taxi.
Highlights of Taxi Driver Season 2 Korean Drama
Disbandment of Rainbow Team:
In the first season, the Rainbow team was disbanded Jang Sung Chul took the fall himself and got arrested. The other four members are doing their things; Kim Do Gi is traveling around, Go Eun is working as a police officer, Choi Kyung Goo is working as an engineer in the automotive industry, and Park Jin Un is working in Korean NASA. However, without telling others Kim Do Gi and Sung Chul started working together on a case. They got their first case where a father is looking for his only son. To make a long story short, the son overheard his father’s loan from a loan shark so to support his father he decide to earn money so that he can pay back his father’s debt. He told his dad that he received a scholarship to study in Vietnam so he has to go there and promise that he will regularly contact him. Later after a few weeks, his son stopped calling him so he decide to go to the police but he didn’t receive any help from there. Kim Do Gi and Sung Chul took over his case and to accomplish their mission Do Gi decide to go to a foreign country.
Rainbow Squad:
Sung Chul doesn’t know other members to join the squad again because he thinks that now they are enjoying their life fully. “Once a team always a team” but somewhere Sung Chul also knows that they both are not enough to solve the case they need the help of their best hacker and technicians. They begin providing their services to the people who are suffering from injustices and the law also not helping them. For people who can’t take revenge, Deluxe Taxi provides that service so that he can help their clients take revenge.
Deluxe Taxi’s Clients:
An elderly woman got scammed by a young man. When you are poor, everyone scammed you. So an old lady didn’t want to put her only son in worry who was working hard to earn the money in the city. She thought that the only option left with her right now was to commit suicide. But on the railway track, she saw Deluxe Taxi’s name, and from there Do Gi and his team decide to give justice to the grandmother and save other people from those scammers and punish them for their wrongdoing. After that, they saved a young girl and her sister from the people who were using kids to earn the money. Jin Sun is suffering from a terminal disease when medication is not working so she decides to rely on a cult to cure her disease Rainbow team also helped her bring down the cult.
Kim Do Gi is Dead or Alive?
When everything is going smoothly and things are going according to plan, Kim Do Gi’s car bomb exploded. Thankful Kim Do Gi was safe, he came out of the car before exploding. Now they want to find out who is behind this, so they decided to use his death to track the mastermind and they will perform Do Gi’s funeral to check who is making the move after his death. The investigation leads them to a club “Black Sun” for the rich in Gangnam.
Overall Thoughts on Taxi Driver Season 2 Korean Drama
After the success of Taxi Driver Season 1, we have very high expectations from Taxi Driver Season 2 Korean drama and of course, season 2 has been a hit season too. Now it is confirmed that they will be back with season 3, I’m super excited for another season. I hope in the 3rd season 3 Esom will make come back because I missed her in Season 2. If you are into thriller and mystery then definitely you should go for this drama. Some cases are so sad that as an audience we can easily connect with them because this happening in the actual world where people are using each other for their own benefit and humanity is dying.
