One Dollar Lawyer Korean drama is the story of Cheon Ji Hoon (Namkoong Min), a lawyer known for his unusual style. His legal fee is only 1,000 Won (1 USD) and he is one of the most skilled lawyers city. He hasn’t lost a single case in his career. Baek Ma Ri (Kim Ji Eun) works as a probationary judicial officer. She lost her first case from Ji Hoon.
Main Characters:
Namkoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon
Cheon Ji Hoon is a former prosecutor and now works as a lawyer. He charges only 1000 won from his clients. Ji Hoon is famous for his unique style, as he always fights for poor people and believes that justice should be available to everyone. When he was a prosecutor he was famous for his rebellion and he never backed down, no matter who was against him.
Kim Ji Eun as Baek Ma Ri
Baek Ma Ri graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute. She is the granddaughter of Baek Hyun Moo (Lee Deok Hwa) who is the founder of Baek law firm.
Choi Dae Hoon as Seo Min Hyeok
Seo Min Hyuk is a Prosecutor who comes from the royal family. His father works in Ma Ri’s grandfather’s law firm. His only goal is to marry Beak Ma Ri.
Highlights of One Dollar Lawyer Korean Drama
1000 Won Lawyer:
A man was trying to jump into the Han River and everyone was trying to stop him. With the same level of craziness, Cheon Ji Hoon also climbs up the bridge and tries to cool down the man. However, Ji Hoon manage to explain everything and told him that he is his lawyer. The man was worried about the legal fee because he was completely broke when Ji Hoon told him that his legal fee is only 1000 won then his all hopes come back. With the help of Sa Moo Jang (Park Jin Woo), he cleared the bridge man’s debts. Moo Jang is the dry cleaning owner and office manager of Ji Hoon.
Justice For All:
After successfully solving his first case, Ji Hoon takes another case where he has to prove the innocence of pickpocketing with four convictions. After confirming that he’s innocent Ji Hoon decides to represent his case. Ji Hoon always chooses the case that he felt is wrongly accused. He also sympathizes with his daughter’s heart condition. Meanwhile, Baek Ma Ri is the prosecutor in charge of that case. Ji Hoon requested a jury and like the last case, he successfully solves the pickpocket case.
Intern Baek Ma Ri:
Inside the courtroom, Baek Hyun Mo was impressed with Ji Hoon’s skills. Ma Ri was happy that now she can start working in his grandfather’s law firm but her grandpa says she must work under Ji Hoon’s law firm that to only for two months. Ma Ri was shocked by his decision, she didn’t want to go there. Mr. Baek told him that if he can’t stay there for 2 months then she doesn’t even need to come back here. When Ma Ri asked the reason, he told that there is no lawyer like him in our law firm and you get to learn a lot from him.
Painful Past:
Ji Hoon has a painful past, in his childhood, he was living alone with his mother in a foreign company. After his mother’s death, his father brings Ji Hoon back to his home country. Even though he was in Korean but still felt alone and started working as a prosecutor. He always fights for the people who were wrongly suffered by the law and the higher-up also tries to stop him from doing that. On this journey, he meets attorney Lee Joo Young (Lee Chung Ah) who works for Baek Law Firm. Ji Hoon was working on a case where he meet Joo Young, she was defending the assailant. While solving the same case, he lost both the people he loved the most, his father and his girlfriend Joo Young.
Trio:
After his loved ones’ death, his only motive was to find the murderer who killed them and he knows that if he stays in the prosecutor’s office it will be very difficult for him to find the real murderer. So he decides to walk away from there. Before death Joo Young opens a law firm for those people who need the most but unfortunately before that happen she felt the world. Ji Hoon decides the continue her work and Joo Young is the one who decides the legal fees. Sa Mu Jang and Baek Ma Ri also joined him on this journey. The trio decides to find the real criminal.

One Dollar Lawyer is a comedy legal Korean drama. In every episode, you will witness new cases which are more realistic and on top of that have a lawyer that everyone can afford. Ji Hoon’s office policy is that they didn’t take murder cases but after for reason they change their policy also. The rating of the drama is also good. The actors also did their job perfectly. Ji Hoon’s heartbreaking past, the way he was hiding his sadness after losing his father and girlfriend, and his transformation after their death.
