This school series started in the year 1999 and was loved by the audience but the director took a break in between and after the year 2002, this series again started in the year 2013. I have seen a common plot or situation in these series. So School 2021 is about school students studying specialized high school helping each other in growing and learning life lessons.
Main Characters:
Kim Yo-han as Gong Ki-joon
He is 18 years old high school student who quit taekwondo after working hard for 11 years because of his leg injury. Now he is a member of the carpentry club.
Cho Yi-hyun as Jin Ji-won
She is 18 years old high school student who is very firm in her decision of becoming a carpenter. She always put her point of view boldly and was always there to help her friends.
Choo Young-woo as Jung Young-joo
He is recently transferred to this school and also has some background story. He hates Gong Ki-joon because of some past events.
Hwang Bo Reum-byeol as Kang Seo-young
She is 18 years old school student grown in an orphanage and she is the topper of the class.
Highlights of the School 2021 Korean Drama
New Faces:
Two new faces are in the school one is Jung Young-joo and another one is new carpentry teacher Lee Kang-hoon. Jung Young-joo throw the pot on the director’s car because of some past issues and the new teacher and Kang Seo-young saw that. Later she made a deal with him she will not tell anyone, this if he will pretend to be her fake boyfriend and he agreed to that. He also becomes a good friend of Jin Ji-won
Issues:
Jung Young-joo and Gong Ki-joon used to be good friends but because of some past incident Jung Young-joo hates Gong Ki-joon and acts as if he doesn’t know him. Gong Ki-joon’s house was at an auction and he was ready to shift somewhere else with his grandpa but then his grandpa fall ill and there was sudden surgery. This thing put them in a tight situation and later his grandpa decide to shift Jin Ji-won’s house on rent.
Love Stories:
Gong Ki-joon and Jin Ji-won studied together in playschool. She even writes a love letter to him. Gong Ki-joon did the same but was never able to give her that letter. As they are growing up they are getting tangled. They both are in the same club plus he has shifted to her house. Jung Young-joo and Kang Seo-young make a deal and start fake dating but later Kang Seo-young started feeling for him. Ji Ho Sung and Go Eun Bi also make a cute couple together.
Politics:
Politics is going on school no matter what others do only two twins (niece and nephew of the director) will win the first prize in every competition. Higher authorities pressures teachers to favor them. Director can go up to any extent to satisfy her desire.
Friendship:
Gong Ki-joon tries hard to be friends with Jung Young-Joo but he always ignores him and taunts him. But later he came to know that the only thing keeping them apart is a misunderstanding which was cleared later. When Gong Ki-joon lost his grandpa and missed school for days than Jung Young-joo was the one who helped him.
A Case:
Jung Young-Joo’s elder brother and ex-student of the same school was got injured while working in a factory and became handicapped. He was fighting to get compensation for the same. The factory is run by the brother of the school’s director and they are denying their negligence. Later Lee Kang Hoon (teacher of carpentry) helped them to win the case.
Overall Thoughts on School 2021 Korean Drama
School series are my favorite and so far loving this drama. These dramas have the same kinds of plots going on. This drama has emotions, High school romance, and fights. They support each other in growing and at the same time, they envy each other. I like the cute chemistry Ji Ho Sung and Go Eun Bi share, bond Gong Ki-joon shares with his grandpa.
