Happiness Korean drama is all about infectious diseases which are spreading all over the city. In a newly constructed apartment, the infectious disease is spreading. Because of this, the apartment is sealed off and now residents are struggling to survive within the building. Residents are living with the fear of spreading the virus and not trusting each other.

Main Characters:

Han Hyo Joo as Yoon Sae Bom

Sae Bom is a member of a special police squad. She is very quick in making decisions, always curious, and can’t stand injustice. Her life is full of struggles since childhood so now she wants to live comfortably in her own house.

Park Hyung Shik as Jung Yi Hyun

Jung Yi Hyun is a detective and in charge of violent crimes. He used to be a baseball player but because of his knee injury had to quit. Sae Bom and Yi Hyun are friends since high school and he has a feeling for Sae Bom.

Joo Woo Jin as Han Tae Seok

Tae Seok is a lieutenant colonel and he used to work for a pharmaceutical company. He knows something about the infectious disease outbreak.

Highlights of Happiness Korean Drama

Infectious Disease:

In the city, a new deadly virus is spreading. The virus gives infected people hunger for human flesh and turns them into zombies. The first case is in the motel where a motel’s staff member heard a strange noise from one of the rooms so he go there for investigation. But when no one answer so he open the lock but suddenly someone pulled him inside the room. Later when police investigate the case so they found that person has bitten the staff member. Sae Bom also encounters the same case where her colleague was biting the neck of the other man. 

Quarantine Site:

While fighting Sae Bom was also bitten by her colleague and after that, she was taken to the quarantine site. Sae Bom is thoroughly examined and tested at the quarantine center. After the examination, Sae Bom was locked in the room for the night and there was spotted some blood on the wall of the room. There she heard a lot of screeching from the nearby room. In the quarantine building, every room is occupied by infected people. Meanwhile, Yi Hyun found out about the mystery pill and that was developed for COVID but later it was pulled off from the market because of side effects such as mood and hallucinogen.

Lockdown:

Tae Seok finds out the whereabouts of the dealer who was distributing the pills. Meanwhile, he confesses that he sells the pills to all the rich people as a diet and concentration. As an outcome in the future, there is a possibility that more cases will occur soon. In the conclusion, they decide to do lockdown to control the case he further added that it’s a temporary measure until they find out the cure for that. Tae Seok also, ensures that they will provide meals and other necessities to the residents.

Virus Spread:

Sae Bom and Yi Hyun make sure that no one can come inside the apartment. They have already all the doors so that they can easily survive without any virus. Although they had done all the precautions still virus was spreading because the gym guy had already taken the medicine. Once the news spread among the apartment people that the gym guy is infected then they want to throw him outside the building. So next day, everyone heads to the gym for the vote. But the majority doesn’t want to throw him out.

Overall Thoughts on Happiness Korean Drama:

Happiness Korean drama is a little bit similar to Sweet Home. In Sweet Home Korean drama also an infectious disease was spreading and residence of apartments struggled for survival. The storyline is all about a failed medicine with having side effects and people are turning into a zombie, they are thirsty for human blood. From the first episode, the storyline is very interesting and promising. The chemistry between the lead is also amazing. Happiness Korean drama is the comeback drama for Park Hyung Sik after the discharge from the military and Han Hyo Joo’s comeback after the success of W Korean drama.

Overall the drama is good, if you have watched “Sweet Home” then you can predict the drama. I didn’t find the storyline is unique. In some cases, I find Sae Bom’s decisions are dumb when she enters inside the truck full of zombies. This drama also proves that humans are more dangerous than any virus. There are so many irritating characters in the drama. Sae Bom and Yi Hyun were surrounded by full of enemies who wants to kill them. Infected people were behaving more maturely than not infected.
