Chimera Koran drama is the story of a serial murder explosions case that is happening in the city and killed numerous victims. Cha Jae Hwan (Park Hae Soo) is a detective. Eugene Hathaway (Kim Soo Hyun) is a former FBI now works as a criminal profiler. Lee Joong Yeop (Lee Hee Jun) is a skilled surgeon. All three of them are involved in a mysterious case and they have their reason to solve the case.

Park Hae Soo as Cha Jae Hwan
Jae Soo is a homicide detective. He is involved in the mysterious Chimera case.
Kim Soo Hyun as Eugene Hathaway
When Eugene was a kid she was adopted by a US couple. She has worked in the FBI but now she returns to South Korea and works there as a criminal profiler.
Lee Hee Jun as Lee Joong Yeop
Joong Yeop was adopted by a British couple. He return to South Korea as a skilled surgeon. Joong Yeop is a former Special Air Service soldier.
Cha Joo Young as Kim Hyo Kyung
Kim Hyo Kyung is an investigative reporter of a broadcasting company. She wants to solve the mysterious case where numerous people are killed by a serial killer.
Highlights of Chimera Korean Drama
Mysterious Explosions:
Wan Ki is a gambler when he returns to his car he found a strange lighter with the label of chimera in his car. The moment he lit the lighter entire car explode. The next morning, police start their investigation and Joo Seok notices a lighter but he hides the lighter in his pocket. He must be hiding something and doesn’t want anyone to know about that.
Investigation:
When Jae Hwan reached the crime scene he find something suspicious. There was no gasoline smell, so they found nothing to prove how the car explode. On top of that, the autopsy report says Wan Ki’s death is not suicidal. However, this case is very similar to the human combustion case in the US. Eugene Hathaway also confirms that the case is very similar. For a better understanding of the case, she visits the crime scene, and they found out that killer wanted this case to come into the public eye.
Chimera:
The present car explosion is very similar to the 1984 case. A businessman was sitting in his car and found a lighter with a chimera label when he tries to light his cigarette the entire car explode. He was the first victim of the Chimera killer now again the same Chimera killing method is used by the killer. In the present first case was car explode, the second how the increase in oxygen level also explodes the whole apartment and the third method is water how a drop of water burns a person.
Real Chimera:
Cha Jae Hwan and Eugene Haddaway found out the Sang Woo is not the real chimera. He has falsely accused the culprit of the Chimera case in 1984. Sang Woo was an innocent man who was forced to take suicide or maybe someone killed him during interrogation. They both want to find out the truth but didn’t get any lead for the case. There was no evidence to prove his innocence and even his body was cremated by the police. Sang Woo’s suicidal note was suspicious however they understand that this case will be difficult for them to figure out. However, they knew that Yong Bok, Joo Seok, and Seung Kwan are the arresting officers.
Trio:
Cha Jae Hwan and Eugene Haddaway both start working together to solve the case and find the mystery behind the case. What is the real intention of the killer, why after 37 years chimera killer come back? Is this a copycat or the same killer as before? They want to find out the answer to these questions. However, Jae Hwan believes that Joong Yeop is the prime suspect because he was always near the crime scene. Meanwhile, they did a search operation in Joong Yeop’s apartment, coincidently they find a painting of a screaming man sitting in a chair about to be burned. But later Jae Hwa convened that he might not be the killer and he is also finding the real chimera. All three of them start working together because all of them have their reason to find the real Chimera.
Overall Thoughts on Chimera Korean Drama:
Chimera is a mystery thriller Korean drama where the detective tries to find out the mystery behind the serial murder explosions case. The killer is copying the Chimera method for killing the people and what’s the pattern he is following to choose the people for the target. Park Hae Soo and Kim Soo Hyun are top actors so we are looking forward to an amazing storyline and great acting skills.
Chimera Korean drama is such an underrated drama. I highly recommend this drama if you are someone who enjoys mystery-thriller then you will love this drama. Every episode is full of suspense and mystery and you will be surprised with the Chimera definitely you will expect that person to be a chimera. All the actors have done a tremendous job.
