Nevertheless Korean drama is the story of Park Jae Eon (Song Kang) is majoring in art and Yoo Na Bi (Han So Hee) is a senior in the same university. Park Jae Eon is very different from others and he hides his true self from others and he is not in a serious relationship. So Hee has a terrible past of relationship and decided not to love anyone. These two personalities meet, understand each other, and change their lives.

Main Characters:

Song Kang as Park Jae Eon

A student at Hongseo University’s Sculpture Department. He is kind and friendly to everyone. He doesn’t like to be in a relationship as he thinks it is troublesome, but he likes to flirt. Jae eon acts hard to get and hides his true personality.

Han So Hee as Yoo Na Bi

A student at Hongseo University’s Sculpture Department who has a bad past in love. So, she has given up on destiny and love. She loves to date but has decided to never have a serious relationship ever again.

Chae Jong Hyeop as Yang Do Hyeok

Yang Do Hyeok is Na bi’s childhood friend and his first love is Na Bi. He runs a cooking show on Youtube.

Highlights of Nevertheless Korean Drama

Love For Butterflies:

Na Bi’s boyfriend was always dominating and wanted everything in his own way. Then one day, she found him cheating and broke up with him. With the worries of a failed love, she was having a drink in a bar. This is where she meets Jae Eon. Jae Eon mistook Na Bi as his blind date. He loves butterflies and he has a butterfly tattoo on his neck. As Nabi denotes butterfly, he started talking to her. They spent the evening together and played games. Na bi shared about his past life and she likes him instantly. Then they parted, but she was filled with his memories. After the classes, everyone planned for dinner, this is where they met again. Jae Eon is her Junior in the university. Then they spent time together and had a lovely bond.

Playboy Jae Eon:

Na Bi’s friend advised her that Jae Eon is just playing with you, as he just flirts with all the girls who are drawn towards him. They warned her not to fall into his trap. Her friend Bitna said “Flowers don’t bloom just for one butterfly. Jae Eon is like that flower. Full of vanity, a symbol of seductive beauty that withers once it’s plucked. That’s what Jae-eon is.” But our Naive Na Bi is always attracted towards him. She went to the club with him again. She had a racy, erotic dream and woke up in shock. Then all the colleagues had a night out, where every girl talked only about Jae Eon and fought for his attention. Then, in the end, Jae Eon was caught kissing another woman by Nabi. This is totally broken down by Na Bi.

Naive Nabi:

Na Bi is so dumb leaves out every clue she gets about Jae Eon’s Character. Even after seeing him kiss another girl, she was cool. Then one day, Jae eon went to the airport to pick up a girl, Seol. She is his Ex-Girlfriend. Jae Eon stayed with Seol that day. Seeing all this and Jae Eon’s changing personalities, Na Bi started to hang out with freshmen. Bit Na and Nam Kyuhyun have started dating and they were cute. As Na Bi’s phone was dead, Jae Eon rushed to his home as something was wrong, but Na Bi was fine. We could sense in this Jae Eon was caring even though he is not trustworthy. Na Bi lacked self-esteem and goes around Jae Eon always.

Glimpse of Friends:

Bit Na and Kyu Hyun were cute together. But Bit Na messed it up by hurting him. Then to make him jealous, she roams around with another man. Then Na Bi and her childhood friend, Do Hyeok met, they had a sweet and heartwarming conversation about their past life and friendship.

Potato Boy:

Potato boy is the nickname for Do Hyeok. He is so caring and loving towards Na Bi and he even expressed his love towards her. They both spent some time together in their hometown. Even though he is a nice guy, Na Bi didn’t get the feeling she got with Jae Eon. All the students came up there and stayed in Do Hyeok’s home. Do Hyeok is one perfect man who excels in photography, cooking, and creativity. Bit Na was instantly attracted to him. Then everyone went to an amusement park, it was quite fun to watch both Jae Eon and Do Hyeok doing everything for Nabi. Naive NAbi once again proves to us her foolishness by falling back again to Jae Eon and ended up kissing in Doe Hyuk’s home.

Broken Pieces:

Bit Na and Gyu Hyun were one loving couple whom I admired now their love is in the wing of sinking down. Constant fights and misunderstandings made them feel that they were happy while they were friends. Na Bi goes back to Seoul and Do Hyuk expressed that he will wait for her and he couldn’t forget her. Then Na Bi was not accepted for the student exchange program and she was depressed. She came to know the manipulations and past of Jae Eon. Jae Eon was crying outside her room and Na Bi was sobbing inside.

Happy Ending:

Flashback to Na Bi’s ex-love disgrading her with a statue that is when Jae Eon has first seen Nabi from then he has got feeling for her. Then in the art exhibition, Na Bi was praised for her work by the professor, at least now Na Bi has chosen herself than anyone. All the couples were happy together.

Overall Thoughts On Nevertheless Korean Drama

“Nevertheless” is the one I started watching because of my dream boy Song Kang. If you are a fan of romantic drama then it is your cup of tea. To just warn you, it is 19+, yet cute romantic drama.

Nevertheless Korean drama is a heart-fluttering drama. But, the naive Na Bi gets into my nerves at times, knowing everything about Jae Eon, she is the one falling for him again and again. So, she is the one to be blamed. Overall, this is a decent and heart-racing drama. Let’s hope that we get to know more about butterflies and Jae Eon in the upcoming episodes. For the god sake, Na Bi should wake up from her romantic dream towards Jae Eon.
