Reborn Rich Korean drama is the revenge story of Yoon Hyeon Woo (Song Joong Ki), who worked for Soonyang Conglomerate for more than 10 years and was very loyal to Soonyang. But in return, he was betrayed and murdered by one of Soonyang’s family members. Later he wakes up in 1987 and finds himself in the body of the youngest grandson of Jin Yang Chul.

Song Joong Ki as Jin Do Joon | Yoon Hyun Woo

Yoon Hyun Woo is the senior manager of the Soonyang Group in the Future Asset Management Department. He is killed by one of the family members of the Soonyang Group. But his soul is inside Jin Do Joon, who is the youngest grandson of the Soonyang Group.

Lee Sung Min as Jin Yang Cheol

Yang Cheol is the founder of Soonyang Group and the grandfather of Jin Do Joon. For him only money and his business matter.

Shin Hyun Bin as Seo Min Young

Seo Min Young is a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. She was investigating the Soonyang Group. Min Young comes from an elite family her father is also a prosecutor.

Loyal Employee:

Yoon Hyun Woo works for Soonyang Group which is owned by the late Chairman Jin Yang Cheol. Soongyang is one of the biggest companies in South Korea but like all big companies, their hands are not clean. However, Hyun Woo is a loyal employee of Soongyang Group, he has earned the family’s trust and he always sticks to three rules; “never refuse an order from a Soonyang family member’, “never ask questions’, “never make his own judgments”. Not everyone in the company like Hyun Woo’s presence, they believe he is there just to clean dirt.

New Chairman:

That day had come when Soongyang had to announce his new chairman. Soongyang heir Jin Sung Joo (Kim Nam Hee) is supposed to be announced as the new chairman Soongyang Group. But things were not going as planned Sung Joon ran away without telling anyone. His wife Hyeon Min (Park Ji Hyun) has given a task to Hyun Woo to bring him back within 30 minutes. This is not an easy task for Hyun Woo to get back an arrogant and stubborn rich heir within 30 minutes. However, Hyun Woo is also not an easy guy and successfully completes his task. Sung Jung also announces that from now Soongyang will serve the nation, however, the rest of the family members are not happy with this decision.

Reincarnation

Sung Joo has given tasks to Hyun Woo to bring back 600$ million deposit. Someone else overheard their conversation, and they send Kyung Min to kill Hyun Woo and take 600$. Hyun Woo starts liking Kyung Min and but unfortunately Kyung Min is the one who killed Hyun Woo, Hyun Woo’s rules overshadowed him. Later he wakes up in 1987 in the body of Jin Do Joon who is the youngest son of Yoon Ki and Hae In. Do Joon is the youngest grandson of Yang Cheol.

Gamechanger Do Joon:

Now Do Joon is the only person who knows everything about the future. Even he has read Chairman Yang Cheol’s biography so he knows him better than his own child. Hyun Woo reincarnation is a gamchanger, now he has a advantage to do things in his favor and he wants to find out the his killer. Earlier Yang Choel did not like Do Joon and his family at all, because Do Joon’s father chose his career for the film industry and marry Hae In which his father was against. But slowly Yang Cheol start liking Do Joon because of his smartness and boldness. He really his bold decision and his mind was very sharp at such a young age.

Overall Thoughts on Reborn Rich Korean Drama:

Song Joong Ki is giving hit dramas back to back. Reborn Rich is a fantastic drama, if you are looking for some lovey-dovey drama then just skip this K-drama. The storyline is great and the actors have given justification for their characters. A happy ending is all we want whether it is drama or real life but it is not always possible to have a happy ending. Shin Hyun Bin’s screenplay is very less as she is a female lead so she deserves more screenplay.
