Highlights of My Liberation Notes Korean Drama
Life of Three Siblings:
The story revolves around three siblings. With their day-to-day struggles, they have no hope in life and were just living a meaningless life. All of them are working in Seoul but they live with their parent in the countryside. Every day they have to commute from Sanpo to Seoul for the job so it’s obvious that at the end of the day they are exhausted physically as well as mentally. Mi Jung is an introverted person so it was very difficult for her to socialize with other people on top of that forced to join any club at the office. She is totally different from her siblings. Chang Hee is a loud person but he hates everything about his hometown. He wants to live alone. Ki Jung has a very high standard for finding true love and she has her own insecurities but always blames others for that.
Struggle:
After struggling all day at work they have to spend their weekends working at a farm with their parents. Their schedule was very hectic and daily commuting from one place to another make their life exhausting. Mi Jung is struggling financially but she hasn’t told her family. She has cosigned a loan to her ex-boyfriend but he left Korean and fled with his ex. After that, he is unreachable and does not respond to Mi Jung’s call so now she is the one who is responsible for the debt. Mi Jung doesn’t want her family to know about the debt so she decides to take the help of Mr. Gu. She asks him to collect the letter for her.
Unexpected Offer:
Apart from helping Mi Jung’s father in his factory and doing farm work Mr. Gu didn’t do anything. But one more thing he loves to do is drink alcohol all day. Mi Jung and Mr. Gu are not very talkative. Struggling in the office and life, a day comes when Mi Jung reaches her breaking point, so she approaches Mr. Gu and offers him. She told me to “Worship Me”. Mi Jung has admitted that in the past she always date jerks but now the only thing she wants is someone to worship her. Her only intention is to apart from drinking the whole day Mr. Gu should do something else.
Liberation Club:
After being continuously forced by the consultant to join any club so the trio decides to make their own club “Liberation Club” Mi Jung, Tae Hoon, and Sang Min are introverts so they take this opportunity to open a club where no one is going to judge them. The club had only one motto, that they would listen to each other’s stories without any sympathy. In their first meeting, they decide to sit while facing outside not sit face-to-face. However, the consultant was still suspicious that the trio has created a fake group just for a show. Like seriously she was behaving like a school teacher. She also told them to keep their own journal. Some she sits with them and listens to their stories.
Overall Thoughts on My Liberation Notes Korean Drama:
My Liberation Notes is a slice-of-life Korean drama where it shows the struggle and challenges of three siblings. Not only in life, they are struggling but in love life as well as in work also. We all can relate to their characters in some way whether it is about work or love life. Some science is funny as well as irritating at the same time where Mi Jung and her two colleagues were forced to join any club at the workplace like they are in the school. Just let them breathe!!! This drama also tells us that it’s ok if you change, take a few steps daily. In one day you can not change someone, to change one’s actions in better way first it is important to understand them and then take a few steps daily.
