Okay, when we say most disappointing Korean dramas, it doesn’t mean the drama is bad it just means that we have high expectations from certain dramas because of casts, screenwriters, or trailers. We K-drama fans watch almost all Korean dramas and also get excited about certain drama and if that drama didn’t get up to our expectations we feel bad and get disappointed and I feel the same happens with you guys as well so share your most disappointing Korean dramas of 2020-21 in the comment section below.
1. When I Was The Most Beautiful (2020)
Starring: Im Soo Hyang, Ji Soo, and Ha Seoki
Synopsis: This drama is the story of a very lonely girl struggling to achieve her dreams. One day she meets two brothers while working on her dream and they both fall in love with her. This drama is a complete disappointment from the very first episode and after a few episodes, it also became boring, same is repeating either it is a small bother or ex-girlfriend.
2. The King: Eternal Monarch (2020)
Starring: Lee Min-ho, Kim Go-eun, Woo Do-hwan, Jung Eun-chae, Kim Kyung-nam, and Lee Jung-jin
Synopsis: This is a story of two parallel words Kingdom of Corea and Republic of Korea. This drama wasn’t that disappointing, but I do have high expectations because of the screenwriter Kim Eun Sook who has given such masterpieces as “The Heirs” and “Goblin”. Throughout the drama, the villain is shown so powerfully but in the end, he died easily. I completed this drama because of Min Hoo Oppa.
3. More Than Friends (2020)
Starring: Ong Seong Wu, Shin Ye Eun, and Kim Dong Jun
Synopsis: This Korean drama is about a girl who has a long-time crush on her school friend and that friend took a while to know about his feeling for her. The girl confesses her love twice and when finally a long-awaited crush came to an end long distant relationship drifts them apart. I don’t like this drama same storyline is repeating.
4. Born Again (2020)
Starring: Lee Soo Hyuk, Jin Se Yun, and Jang Ki Yong
Synopsis: This is the story of three people a woman and two guys who were involved in the past and after death, faith brings them together in present as well. The woman was confused between both the guy in the whole drama which irritated me a lot. You can also watch this Korean drama in Viki if you want to like it if you ask me I won’t recommend it to watch.
5. Record of Youth (2020)
Starring: Park Bo Gum, Park So Dam, Byeon Woo Seok, and Kwon Soo Hyun
Synopsis: This Korean drama shows the struggle of youth they face while achieving their dreams. There is a quote ” One real enemy is better than hundred fake friends”. I hate the character of Won Hae Hyo who was fully controlled by his mother. He tried to steal his best friend’s girl and even get jealous when his best friend gets more popular than him. I do have high expectations from this drama but with time it became boring.
6. Love Alarm Season 2 (2021)
Starring: Song Kang, Kim So Hyun, and Jung Ga Ram
Synopsis: Love Alarm is all about finding your love with the help of technology. Love alarm is an application that helps in discovering love. It notifies if someone loves you or not within the range of 10 meters. Tagline says” if you love someone ring the love alarm“. For Season 2 there are two teams: Team Sun Oh or Team Hye Young. The first season left us in between that is why the second season was hyped so much but failed to meet the expectations of the viewers. I don’t know why the girl is so confused I mean she can just choose Sun Oh and we don’t have to wait for almost two years for the second season.
7. Oh My Landlord (2021)
Starring: Lee Min Ki, Nana, and Kang Min Hyuk
Synopsis: As we know opposite characters attract each other same thing happens in this drama. Overall this drama was one of my favorites but the ending disappoints me. Comedy and romance were up to the mark but in my opinion, the writer shouldn’t have disappeared as the main male lead in the end. It was like a perfect Rom-Com drama with an incomplete love story.
