Lies After Lies Korean drama is the story of a woman Ji Eun Soo (Lee Yu Ri) who is a daughter-in-law of a D.O cosmetics company. One night, she suddenly becomes a murderer, for killing her husband. After spending 10 years in prison, she tries to get back her daughter. Kang Ji Min (Yeon Jeong Hun) has adopted her daughter Woo Joo (Go Na Hee). He is a reporter of Channel A. Ji Eun Soo wants to become the stepmother of her daughter.
Main Characters:
Lee Yoo Ri as Ji Eun Soo
Ji Eun Soo is the daughter-in-law of a rich family, but suddenly becomes the murder of her husband. She is sent to prison for killing her husband. She is pregnant and gives birth to a baby girl in the prison.
Yeon Jung Hoon as Kang Ji Min
Kang Ji Min is a reporter of Channel A who is a very kind-hearted and justice-loving journalist. He is a loving and caring father. He loves her adopted daughter Kang Woo Joo. Kang Ji Min is the ex-husband of Eun Se Mi.
Lee Il Hwa as Kim Ho Ran
Kim Ho Ran is the founder of the D.O cosmetics company. She wants to take revenge on her daughter-in-law for killing her only son Jeon Gi Bum (Song Jae Hee).
Im Ju Eun as Eun Se Mi
Eun Se Mi is the ex-wife of Kang Ji Min. After the divorce from her husband, she moves to the USA and currently the manager of golfer Kim Yeon Joon.
Go Na Hee as Kang Woo Joo
Kang Woo Joo is the daughter of Eun Soo, but she is adopted by Kang Ji Min. She loves drawing.
Kwon Hwa Woon as Kim Yeon Joon
Kim Yeon Joo is a professional golfer and he has a crush on Eun Soo.
Highlights of Lies After Lies Korean Drama
Murder:
After marrying into a rich family, she has assumed that the rest of her life will be an easy ride. But suddenly she becomes the murder of her husband. She was blamed that, she has killed her husband, which she was continuously denying and telling everyone that she hadn’t killed her husband. She is sent to prison. Suddenly from nowhere, she finds a way to prove herself innocent. Reporter Kang Ji Min is interested in the case and he wants to meet with Eun Soo. But her mother-in-law doesn’t want her daughter-in-law to come out from the prison so she tells the prison warden that don’t let them meet anyhow. So with the lack of evidence, the court finds her guilty of killing her husband. She didn’t get a chance to meet with Kang Ji Min.
Problems:
When Eun Soo was in the prison her father died in an accident. When you have a hard time then every problem appears at the same time her daughter is suffering from asthma because of bad air in prison. She can’t keep her daughter in prison when her mother-in-law knows that, she wants to convince Eun Soo that she will take care of her daughter and she doesn’t need to worry about her. Eun Soo knows that she just wants to fool her but Kim Ho Ran tells her that because she is the only blood left of her family so she will take care of her and it is the best for her daughter also. Instead of living as the daughter of a murderer, it is best for her to live as a granddaughter of D.O Cosmetic. Finally Eun Soo giver her daughter to her.
Betrayal by Mother-in-law:
After 10 years Eun Soo came out from prison and she was so happy that she will meet her daughter. In these 10 years, she was just living only for her daughter but when she reached her mother-in-law’s house, she came to know that she had killed her daughter. After knowing that Eun Soo wants to kill her mother-in-law for betraying her. She tries to investigate Yoon Sang Gyu (Lee Won Jong) her mother-in-law secretary and she find out that her daughter is still alive and adopted by reporter Kang Ji Min.
Step Mother of Her Own Daughter:
Eun Soo finds out that Ji Min is single and she wants to stay close with her daughter Woo Joo so she decides to become her own daughter’s stepmother. She starts seducing Ji Min; she always appears in the same place where Ji Min go and shows that it was just a coincidence. Slowly Woo Joo also start liking Eun Soo and she became Woo Joo drawing teacher. Woo Joo misses her mother but when she closes with Eun Soo she just forgets about her mother. They both start enjoying each other company and Ji Min also enjoys Eun Soo company.
Love Triangle:
Eun Soo and Kang Ji Min start feeling for each other and then suddenly there comes the entry of golfer Kim Yeon Joon who has a crush on Eun Soo since childhood. He was searching for Eun Soo and finally meet her and want to protect her. Later he supports Eun Soo decision and helps her.
There is another love triangle Eun Se Mi also appears in Kang Ji Min’s life and wants to start afresh life with her husband and daughter but they don’t want her in their life again. She was just trying her best to separate Eun Soo and Ji Min and Eun Soo’s mother-in-law also helping Se Mi.
Romance:
In the starting, Eun Soo was just seducing Ji Min for staying close with her daughter but later she starts liking Ji Min because of his warm heart nature. They love spending time together and want a fresh start with each other. Eun Soo and Ji Min decide to marry and Woo Joo also support her dad but during the wedding, Eun Soo’s mother-in-law comes and creates a situation where Woo Joo finds out that Eun Soo killer a person. After hearing that Woo Joo’s health become worse and she was admitted to the hospital.
Fight For Ji Min:
When Se Mi finds out that Eun Soo and Ji Min are dating then she wants to separate them. Se Mi wants a fresh start with Ji Min. She takes the help of Eun Soo’s mother-in-law to separates both of them. She knows that Eun Soo kills a person but she doesn’t know the whole truth. Se Mi tells Mi Jin’s mother that Eun kills her husband. Later, she finds out that Kim Ho Ran is helping her because she hates her and she is her daughter-in-law who has killed her son.
Real Truth:
Se Mi tells the truth of Eun Soo to Ji Min that she is the biological mother of Woo Jin and when he finds out about Eun Soo then he was very hurt. He was sad by the fact that Eun Soo is her daughter’s biological mother and still she wants to become her own daughter’s step-mother. After knowing the whole truth about Eun Soo, he decides to break up with her and tell her to stay away from his daughter and him. He was hurt by the fact that all the coincidence was her plan and she doesn’t love her it was all fake.
Killer:
Eun Soo wants to find out the real murderer who kills her husband. Her mother-in-law wants to prove Eun Soo a real murderer so Eun Soo finds something fishy. *Spoiler Alert* While Investigating she finds out that Jeon Gi Bum her husband is not the real son of Kim Ho Ran and her real son is Kim Woong (Kwon Hyuk Hyun). Kim Woong is staying as a secretary of Kim Ho Ran and she wants to save him at any cost. He was the one who kills Jeon Gi Bum and put the whole blame on Eun Soo.*Spoiler End*
Overall Thought on Lies After Lies Korean Drama:
Lies After Lies Korean drama is an amazing drama and I enjoy watching this drama. I complete the whole series within two days. In Lies After Lies Korean drama, I love all the characters and everyone gives justices to their character. I really feel sad for Eun Soo from the starting of the drama till the end she was just suffering from problems and her problems are never-ending all credit goes to her mother-in-law.
Eun Soo so desperate to become her own daughter’s stepmother, she just wants to stay close with her daughter at any cost. The chemistry between Eun Soo and Ji Min is amazing. You will be the witness of romance in Lies After Lies Korean drama but there is no kiss in the whole drama so it is a family drama. The bond between Eun Soo and Woo Joo is so pure and heartwarming.
Kim Ho Ran thinks that she has killed Eun Soo’s daughter but she was unaware of the fact that Eun Soo’s daughter is alive. When she finds out that then again she wants to kill Woo Joo. Eun Soo was just paying for the crime which she hasn’t committed.
In the ending, I thought that it will be a sad ending and till the end, I was just praying that they had a happy ending. Overall Lies After Lies Korean drama is an amazing and beautifully well-scripted Korean drama. It tells the story of a mother who became the stepmother of her own daughter.
