Pop-out Boy Korean drama is based on the webtoon series ‘Comic Book Boy Girl‘ Pop-out Boy is a story of a boy who suddenly pop-out from a comic book into the real world.
Main Characters:
Kim Do Yeon as Han Sun Nyeo
She is a high school student who is very rude. Her mother was a comic book writer and used her name as a female lead in her books. She finds those comic books cheap.
Kim Min Kyu as Chun Nam Wook
He is a male lead character of a comic book who is known as lonely fighter. He pop-out from the comic book into the real world.
Choi Hyun Wook as Non ye joon
He is a high school student and a good friend of Han Sun Nyeo. He is a model and also trying modeling plus he has a big crush on Han Sun Nyeo.
Han ji Hyo as Park Min Jung
She is a high school student and good friend of Han Sun Nyeo. She is crazy about romantic comic books.
Highlights of Pop-out Boy Korean Drama
Birthday Surprise:
Its Han Sun Nyeo’s birthday, she invited her two friends Noh Ye Joon and Park Min Jung but they couldn’t make it to her party. She was upset and reading lines of a comic written by her mother than suddenly a boy appears in front of her. The boy is the male lead character of the comic named “Chun Nam Wook”.
Different Characters:
Chun Nam Wook was in love with Han Sun Nyeo in the world of comic books and he also gave her a nickname Ms. Cat. In the real world when he calls her with that name she got angry because she was afraid of them. Chun Nam Wook tells her that she is different from one in the comic book. He also tells her that he likes her more. The girl in the comic book is a needy and very clumsy but one who is in the real world is the opposite.
Wants To Go Back:
Chun Nam Wook wants to go back in his world and for that, he finds away. He asked Chun Nam Wook to kiss him so that he can go back but she denied. He followed her everywhere, he even comes to school and introduced himself. Park Min Jung identifies who is he and where he came from and she decides to help him in getting a kiss. Chun Nam Wook irritated Han Sun Nyeo so she agreed to kiss him and it didn’t work.
Rudeness:
Han Sun Nyeo was rude to Chun Nam Wook, she said to him that his existence is a burden for her. They both argued and Han Sun Nyeo took this conversation into the heart. He talks less to her and he even did a part-time job. When Chun Nam Wook realized her mistake she went up to make up with him but he ignored her. Later when Chun Nam Wook realizes that in the comic book world he can’t do a single think on his own will and in the real world he can’t do anything he wants, he makeup with Han Sun Nyeo.
Chun Nam Wook’s Effect:
When anyone looks into Chun Nam Wook eyes they end up falling for his charm. Yoon Yi Na (Im Bo Ra) is the major victim of Chun Nam Wook’s effect. She is a very decent and kind girl but every time she sees him she acts like she is in love with him.
Caution:
Chun Nam Wook and Han Sun Nyeo are getting close now they understand each other better. Chun Nam Wook even bought a watch for her. He accidentally read her mother’s dairy, it is written there that if he didn’t return to his world he will die soon. After reading this he tries to maintain distance from her. When she finds out she wants him to go back.
Condition:
One can come out and go in back in the world of comic only when time and date are mentioned in the lines of a comic book. They just have to say the same lines and the person will go back. Before sending him back Han Sun Nyeo wants to do all things in his bucket list. When they tried it the first time, at the last moment Chun Nam Wook decline to go back. Later they tried it again and he went back.
Overall Thought on Pop-out Boy:
Pop-out Boy is a short and sweet kind of drama and I am sure you will fall for the charm of the male lead. One thing I can’t miss out to tell is that this drama has so many cheesy lines one of them is ” Why do you always seem burdened? (1st person) What do you mean?? (2nd person) You are burdened with the weight of good looks (1st person)”.
This series gives clues that there will be a second part because, in the end, another person appears with Chun Nam Wook but they didn’t show his face, I wonder who is he.
