Welcome To Waikiki is the story of three men who come to run a failing guesthouse called Waikiki. They all have different dreams, and everyone is in the struggle to achieve it. They started facing a lot of trouble when their guesthouse is visited by a single mother and her daughter Sol. Then after overcoming all the obstacles, they ended up achieving their dreams.
Main Characters:
Kim Jung Hyun as Kang Dong Goo
A kind-hearted young man who aspires to become a movie director. Due to his misfortune, he fails at every attempt. His first love broke up so he continues to work.
Lee Yi Kyung as Lee Joon Ki
Joon Ki is the son of a great actor and who wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. He works hard and performs best in every minor role he gets to achieve his dream. He desires to achieve his dream without his father’s support.
Son Seung Won as Bong Doo sik
A freelance webtoon writer. He barely receives work, so he works in a nearby convenience store as a part-timer.
Jung In Sun as Han Yoon Ah
A single mother who ends up staying in the Waikiki guesthouse with her daughter Sol whereas in exchange she helping them in cleaning and cooking food for them.
Ko Won Hee as Kang Seo Jin
Dong Gu’s sister wants to be a journalist but had difficulty landing a job. Joon ki calls her Chewbacca. She has facial hair, which is a source of embarrassment, so she shaves it daily.
Lee Joo Woo as Min Soo Ah
She is a famous model and Dong guy’s ex-girlfriend. But she ends up staying in the guesthouse after her new boyfriend cheated on her.
Highlights of Welcome To Waikiki Korean Drama
Waikiki Guesthouse:
Dong Gu, Joon Ki, and Doo Sik are close friends and they started a guest house together to fulfill their dreams. But to their misfortune, there was no guests flow. Dong Guy’s sister Kang Seo Jin also lives with them in the guest house. But one day, there was a girl baby in one of their guestrooms and they couldn’t figure out who left their baby. So, they started taking care of the baby, which was totally fun.
Sol’s Mother:
After a day, the baby’s mother returned back to the guest house. She is a single mother, Yoon Ah later started working there and stayed in the guesthouse with sol. Sol is an adorable, cute baby girl. She lightens every scene.
Trio of Welcome To Waikiki:
Joon Ki is a hard-working actor, but he gets only minor roles. But he does it with full dedication. One day he gets a role in a movie, but because of some problem, he has to travel with hilarious makeup every day from a movie set to home. You will die laughing in his scenes. Dong Goo is an assistant director and Doo Sik is a freelance writer. Yoon Ah thinks that everyone except her has a dream. So she reveals her dream of becoming a rapper (It is another hilarious scene).
Love Life:
In the run, Seo Jin achieved her dream of becoming a journalist. Dong Goo’s sister Seo Jin and Joon Ki start dating each other and they try hard to keep it a secret from Dong Goo. Meanwhile, Dong Goo started having feelings for Yoon Ah, but she is not ready to join hands with another man after a heartbreaking life. Doo Sik dates many women, but he ends up being single. Soo Ah, Dong Goo’s ex-girlfriend ends up in the guesthouse as she went bankrupt. Soo Ah and Doo Sik started an online shopping mall.
After many misunderstandings, Dong Goo and Yoon Ah had their first date together. Dong Goo found out the secret love of Joon Ki and Seo Jin. Have you heard of the Shave strike??? Seo jin went on a shave strike until Dong Goo accepts their relationship. Rebecca (Joon Ji’s car) plays a major role in this drama. The scenes with Rebecca are guaranteed laughter treats. Sol’s father returned back to Yoon Ah and begged for forgiveness, and this is when Dong Goo and Yoon Ah’s relationship became stronger. These three men tried hard to develop their guest house and ended up achieving their dreams.
